I don’t agree at all with the comment McReight is underweight, but I applaud the Wallabies for seeking to better manage the development of our young players. McReight has a fantastic career ahead of him. The experience of touring would’ve, no doubt, had plenty of benefit, but there will be plenty in staying at home too. Colby is a very good stop-gap.

There was a time when Colby very could have been Hooper. His a fantastic talent, and will add to the Wallabies as they train overseas and if called on will do a fantastic job.

He is there purely as a backup for Hooper. Samu can also cover 7 at a pinch. They really should have taken McReight on this trip instead of McMahon. Colby is a good choice at this point though.

Agree on all points JB. Have to say that Colby was a bit of a groundbreaker. Played No 7 at the Brumbies and in 2011 captained the Aussie U20s, playing at 6. Moved there to allow one Michael Hooper to play the 7 spot. Both played very good.

I always personally thought Colby was the best of the Fainga'a brothers but never made the test side like the twins.

Sort of. Our starting forward pack is, potentially, the strongest we've put out in years.

Our backline is a bit more mix and match. Kind of a weird place to be for an Australian team. Hopefully the old adage that the forwards decide the match holds true (and we put some work in at the ruck).

I’d like to see Arnold start with Skelton, Latu and Beale on the bench this week. Thats a big ask and probably not fair on the lock that misses out but we need these guys up to speed for the England game.

Don’t think having them both start is possible, they literally just got into camp. It would cause mayhem on our systems.

Makes no difference if subbed on or off. Not an 80 min player is the difference. I'd rather start out strong.

To his credit Skelton has been putting in 80 minute performances for La Rochelle. I think similar arguments apply to Tupou. Why not have Skelton dominate for 50 minutes then take him off. More chance for him to spark something brilliant.

Nar - I'd have Leota on the bench with Skelton. Let Swinton start and sub him off at 50 when he starts to tire and get a little sloppier. Then sub Skelton and Leota on at the same time.

Yeah agree , it's a balancing act getting the best players on the field and disrupting the cohesion and team spirit within the group.

Hopefully and addition of a couple of players at a time , rather than wholesale changes, doesn't cause too much disruption.

Can't say I've been impressed with statements from Skelton that "I'm not here to hold the training bags". Not at all the culture that has been evident up till now. I'd love to see the big guy back, but he can leave his attitude of entitlement back in France.

I read that more as "I really want to perform and prove I can be a starter", but I suppose it's a matter of perspective.
