Wallabies 2021

Kerevi still has the same agent as when he left the Reds, right? Is that why agents have suddenly become an issue?

To some derision, I did recently nominate Mack Hansen as a possibility for the 15 spot call-up. Just to put it in context, Mack was a member of the 2018 Australian U20s squad alongside such luminaries as Rob Valetini, Len Ikitau, Tate McDermott and Jordan Petaia (all Wallabies), and sometime squad members Angus Blyth, Trevor Hosea, Fraser McReight and Ryan Lonergan. The fact that he was backup to the incumbent Wallaby 15 ought not to detract from his talent and performances. I reckon he would be ready to play off the bench at this level, and would certainly prefer him to one or two of the favourites of others on the thread.
He's been called up to the Irish squad now, which is a shame. Was hoping he'd come back to Australia after a couple of years.

It’s a schmoozing exercise to try to lock in their allegiance before we can - same with Louis and to a lesser extent the
hooker that no one had heard of until Eddie picked him. Maybe one or all will go on to play 100 tests, and good on them if so. But until they actually get capped they’re fair game and all 3 are worth risking. Hansen went north specifically because he thought he had a better chance of playing for Ireland than Australia, given our Fijian flyers who would blame him. As a debutante I’d rather he be on Ireland’s bench than ours.

I was always impressed by Hansen and thought he had earned a fair few more starts at 15 for the Brumbies. He is a talent, with more game time in Aus I think a lot more people would think so too. Scored some great tries in his limited super time. Pace, skills and a rugby brain.

I'm not sure where he would fit in with Australia currently but I wish him well with the Irish. Things could have been different had he been given a decent run at 15 for the Brumbs.

He'd be one of two fit fullbacks in the country.

If he did move to Ireland for international caps I reckon the lad has made a mistake not backing himself.

Do we really need Johnson? A definite NO. If you’re going to strike a deal to bring back our O/S players then you need to complete the deal and know where it starts and ends. McMahon had good intentions but the deal was half baked.
Let Rennie do the negotiations, we would have been sweet, and saved a bucket of money to pay the players without Johnson’s salary.
Agreed. How the hell does Scott Johnson justify his salary of over $800000 ??? Talk about a waste of money and a job that is not needed by a cash strapped organisation....the whole thing where you need all these so called specialist positions to run a game is beyond me....you see that when the British Lions tour.....there are more staff than players....

Good choice. Agree - I can’t see him in the 23, but who knows. A couple of injuries and he gets a shot. Always a good player - just plays in the position where Australia always seems to have depth

That "hooker that no-one had heard of" was in the Waratahs system but was told that "his work rate was not good enough". He did have the disadvantage of playing for Eastwood.

He is there purely as a backup for Hooper. Samu can also cover 7 at a pinch. They really should have taken McReight on this trip instead of McMahon. Colby is a good choice at this point though.

McReight needs to stack on some weight. Realistically, Hooper will play 80 mins for all three tests. If injured, Samu will play 7 and Colby will join the bench.
