Reds 2022

I don't think those thoughts were greatly out of context when Thorn was promoted - along with the immediate turmoil. Time has provided a different context. He'll be remembered well.
I think they were taken completely out of context. What he said was he hoped the QRU could build a high performance program and success whereby Brad Thorn was still there in ten years time like Bennet at the Broncos. People took it to mean “we want to sign Brad to a ten year contract”.

Understood. The context I was thinking of was Thorn's immediate actions and the juxtaposition with areas that the Reds management had invested in. He was promoted earlier than ideal, with a result that worked against former and relatively recent decisions by the Reds and imo they deserved to be pilloried for it.

It was an "all in" bet though and from the start I felt he needed to be given 5 years. We are there are we not?

At the time I thought the context was that Miller supported long term plan others didn’t see, or agree would eventuate.

I went to renew my membership last night online and noticed a few interesting things.

It appears that you have to select auto-renewal before you can complete credit card details. I think you should be able to pay a membership and not have a renewal magically appear every year, you can contact them by phone to opt out of this but it seems to lock you into a contract just like a gym membership.

I was also going to purchase a reds coffee mug on top of my membership package. When I got to the checkout it had separate postage for the mug and the membership package, surely they can ship it as one package and only have one shipping fee, this leaves more money for me to buy more stuff from their shop.

Looks like I will renew my membership by phone call on Monday to stop the auto-renewal.

Fwiw I got a coffee mug as part of my membership package, so you might only need to order one if you wanted an extra

I wish the supporters merch was an optional extra, I never seem to wear the hat and it’s just a waste.

i live interstate so if I want to support the club i need the forever red membership, but they want $60 for the membership and $15 postage and handling for a hat I don’t want.

It doesn’t cost $15 to send a hat, from my days of selling on eBay, P&H costs like that are just an additional profit margin you slap on top.

I’d pay $50 for a digital membership, give me priority ticket purchase options for finals and put me on a members email distro list. Don’t need any of the hat or magnets.

I like the hat, if nothing more than to ensure I am up to date. I wish they would mix it up though and maybe try a bucket hat every couple of years.

I cant understand how the postage is not included in the membership to make it feel like you got a good deal.

A $60 membership with $15 postage makes you question what they are posting and if you are being taken for a ride.

I would pay a $75 all inclusive and never even consider the postage and think I was getting a good deal.

I do wear my hat but would prefer a cheap t-shirt instead, I think they did a QC (Quade Cooper) shirt when Quade was still playing.

Got my membership pack.

Mug (isn't dishwasher or microwave safe), weird towel thing, really good hat, out of date fixture list and a usual lanyard.

the cap really is good.

I've chucked my mug in the dishwasher a number of times. No drama. I assume the print will fade in time, but whatevs. The kids love the towel because its a good gym towel. Can't blame them for the out of date fixtures.

Only thing I ever care about it the hat and it is a really good one.

In saying that I did like the key ring last year. That was good.

With all these rave reviews of the hat, could someone insert a picture?
Basically the same as last year but with the Queensland 'Q' logo replacing the 24th player one:

Is this Dynasty’s second year as jersey provider? It seems the turnover in kit makers is much higher in rugby union than other sports. In the last 5 years the Reds have had

Dynasty
Zoo
BLK
Kooga

maybe I’m missing one? I know Kooga evolved into BLK in Australia.
