Also, the image shows the 'jump into the tackle' narrative is BS.
Can you access the next few sequential stills?
I could, but I can't be arsed. You can see the slow mo here

Looks to me like he didn't really make sufficient attempt to get his arm up prior to contact. And while I love a good hit, the reality is having your arm down like that does allow for the tackler to make a greater impact, which is the entire point of the law.

Strange that the TMO and referee thought there was sufficient action with the arm.

To be fair, a northern hemisphere officiating crew could have gone the other way.

Also strange that when they make a call that benefits the team people support, the officials are wise and just arbiters whose word is law rather than the blind fucking cheats they are the rest of the time.

Leave it alone. It was a crazy tackle that Koriebete had no right to even be there to attempt. It will go down alongside GGs effort as one of the great try savers, and rightly so.

WTF happened to our lineout? It has been our go to phase all year. If we get that right next week it will push us a long way to getting another win.

Sounds like everyone at the grounds had a great experience.

I will say though, the broadcast scheduling was annoying for QLD rugby fans. We talk about getting the game connecting with grassroots, not only did it clash with the final round of QPR but they clashed with the QLD Country Grand Finals being hosted in Toowoomba.

Yep, right arm is the key. The left gets stopped by Mapimpi’s leg, making it look like no effort was made to wrap from the rear shot

If the contact shoulder isn't sufficiently attempting to wrap/grasp, the non contact arm is basically irrelevant. I

how does a shoulder wrap? there's an arm there. it's clearly a legal attempt at a tackle.

there's a still image that shows the arm behind Mapimpi, a shoulder charge would have the arm tucked close to Marika's chest.

A shoulder that is attached to an arm attempting to wrap, can contact the ball carrier. In this case, a shoulder (his left) attached to an arm insufficiently attempting to wrap was the one that hit the ball carrier. That's the relevant bit and the right arm attempting to wrap doesn't mitigate the left shoulder contact.

Almost all shoulder charge penalties feature the off arm attempting some form of a wrap, it's not relevant.

I think the contact arm is attempting to wrap.
Mapimpe subtly changes direction which means the contact is on the upper arm rather than shoulder and this prevents the arm coming around. Koro slightly overruns him due to the direction change and leap.

it's illegal to jump into or over a tackler yes

He's not doing that though is he? At the point of contact, his foot is on the ground and he's in a fairly normal running stride. It's not illegal to try and dive after the tackle.
