bench tapers should be banned!
Agree 100%. But surely it is up to the school to say that this practice is not permitted. It's only really a problem at the Scoreboard End where most of the Joeys supporters sit. Not really an issue at the Jack's End of the grandstand where visiting teams and INP sit on the cold metal seats.

The King’s winger Aadesh (I think). Is he a GPS sprinter? Seems this is his second year playing 1sts but haven’t seen him in GPS Aths or any GPS teams but seems to complement their more ‘famous’ winger Tonga quite well.

A very strong a player who can just do the job very well. His defence was a real standout last year.

kings will have a big headache this week with selections, with sam McLachlan to come back youd assume he would be placed straight back into the 1s as his kicking game is needed.

but who gets the drop ? No one in that side deserves to lose their spot at the moment but it seems like it will be rather Tom watts or Luke maroun. If watts is dropped it pushes sam into 10 and Boston back to 12. Whilst if Luke is dropped you will see sam slot right into the 15 role.

I personally think maroun is most likely to stay, his attacking game as been brilliant.

I prefer to call it the BBQ end, adjacency to a rowers lot is highly prized.

Summary of Rd2 :

View once again showed they are an all round team, work together well, defend hard and play to their strengths. Credit to the players but also to the coaches who have made some adjustments since the trials and have the team 2 from 2 heading into Rd3 vs Kings. What I liked about them fron their 2 games is that they finish the game as fast as they start meaning they are very fit and probably the fittest team in the comp.
Scots were disappointing as a unit ( I won't single out any players but just say the ones that have already been mentioned are a good start ). Again, began the game well but there were periods that they seemed lost in what they wnated to do. A bit too individual. Need to bounce back against a confidant Shore team
New were blown off the park in the first half against a very big, mobile and technically very good Kings team however came back strongth in the Second half by using their speed out wide and strenth up the middle. Silly mistakes and bad options have led to their 2 losses which they could have won. Can win on their day if they keep things simple and are a big chance against Joeys this week
Every team will know that they will have to stay in the game with Kings in the first half at least. Kings forward are well drilled and play direct giving space for their outside backs but ... they did fade badly ( fitness/injuries ? ) in the second half v New and this should encourage other teams to hang in the contest especially a very good View team this week.
Shore is another all round team that will play to their game plan and frustrate other teams like they did to Joeys. Tipping an upset against Scots.
Joeys can count themselves either lucky or unlucky they have had 2 draws. I will go with lucky as I think they are not playing direct enough through their forwards ( although apart from 1 or 2 they are not big bodies ) yet throw it wide to much too early and are too easy to defend at the moment. Joeys will go all day however need to adjust their game plan to suit this year's team. Hard to change a culture that has won over 50 premierships but a tweak or two may be needed.

Tips for Rd 3 will be placed as soon as team lists are provided. New 14,15 ( concussion ? ), Joeys 13 ,7 etc Very important ins/outs

My time to shine..

2006

Shore 20 defeated St Joseph’s 15
Tries: Patrick Ryan 2
Conversions: Kurtley Beale 1
Penalty Goals: Kurtley Beale 1
Shore won the 1st and 2nd XV games that day. The Shore teams were coached by old boys of Shore, Barker, Knox and... Joeys. Shore shared the 1st and 2nd XV premierships, the last time either has finished at the top of the table.

Personally and im sure many others would agree with me that James Warner not being in this team is ridiculous to say the least, James year 11 from Shore in his first GPS game starting, scored 2 out of the 4 Shore tries while also having a try assist not to mention perfect lineout execution and tackling also with some ball running mixed in there. This was an exceptional game especially considering it was his first game starting, he handled the pressure like a pro. Without James the scoreboard looks extremley different. I think the selectors need to knock off the obvious bias and start showing the Shore men some well earned and deserved respect
