Boy am I looking to a big weekend of racing. I am particularly looking forward to watching the fours, with the great depth in the Riverview boatshed. In heat 1 we have 2 riverview crews one being the 2nd 4 and the 4th four which got a time of 7:21 last weekend. My prediction for this heat is riverview 2,kings, shore, and Riverview 4 to make it to the final. And in heat 2 who wouldn't pick view 1 to come on top, then we have St Augustines in 2nd, view 3, and kings, it would be exciting to see the close racing in the final between the Riverview crews.

TKS 2 8 stacked the u19 eight at Kings/PLC. There was most certainly 1st 8 rowers who were not able to race in the Schoolboy event, but still enough 2nd 8 rowers so that they could race under the 2nd 8 title.
reminds me of when sydney grammar scratched their first year 10 viii and put them in the 3rd viii race and dominated. beating the View crew that had been constantly winning all 2023 season. no general surprises kings would stack a boat for a singular win through their shed.

Oh mate please don't remind me of this. A 6:30 in the third eight by a grammar school is just unheard of. Anywho I am proud of the boys in lane cove for the consistent efforts over last season and almost going undefeated throughout the season in the 3rdviii just goes to show the depth once again

A 3rd Senior VIII time of a 7:03 from Riverview is not all that impressive if im being honest, the Shore Fourth Junior pulled a 6:58 at Head of the River last year. Maybe a bad day or something, but surely Senior VIIIs should be going faster?

G’Day fellas, good to finally join into the rowing yarn for this year. Who’s got predictions for this Saturday locked and loaded?

Yeah, I think it was more that Grammar had not been fielding a 3rd VIII in any prior race and blended their 2nd IV and 4 rowers from their Yr 10 1st VIII, from the regattas 2 and 3 weeks prior (both were off pace all season), to 'win' the 3rd VIII race at HOTR.

Gday Fellas, do we have any predictions for this upcoming NSW state champs. Thoughts on Kings 2nd Eight and Riverview 2nd Eight fighting alongside each other.

Any intel on the junior eights for the nsw state champs
Scots the only 2nd junior to enter, all other first Juniors entered I believe. Lots of Vic u17 8's also in the mix, should make for some great results. Around 6:23-6:26 was the winning standard last week but I expect time to keep dropping as we get closer to Hotr.

Disease apparently rife in the Shore Shed. Really sorry to hear about it. Well done St Joseph’s on the victory, and the first sub 6 minute time of the year. Shore First Junior with a great showing even with a late out. Jennings magic is back and better than ever.

I would like to congratulate the joeys first VIII on an outstanding and corsages performance today. Also can any one report on the kings IV’s I heard that some of the boys rowing in them were fist VIII. Thanks Joe

Yes was all Kings firsts in that IV
Well done to that TKS IV, at least half of their VIII had a row today. Well done to Joeys VIII today for breaking 6.00 and well done to View for continuing to close the gap in the top race, less than 1.5 secs between the times. Have no doubt View can take the 1st VIII race in mid March as they continue to improve.

View's 2nd VIII is on pace, rowing through both the Scots and Newington 1st VIII today, (managing a 6.02 in their second race), View IVs had another strong performance, 3/4 making the final race.

Times are speeding up later in the day, has the wind dropped or are they digging deeper?

Won't be able to draw that much from the Gold Cup next week, always an entertaining regatta though in it's 140th year.

Maybe a question for the Ignatius members of the community, the “St Ignatius 4” boat scored a 7:19 in their first race, and then pulled out an AAGPS record-breaking 6:56 in the second race. One question, How?
