Queensland Reds 2025

Brumby Runner

Jason Little (69)
Some encouragement for Trevor King. Lington Ieli debuted for the Brumbies in Round 1 this year at age 20y 7m. TK will be younger at 20y 2m, but in terms of experience in levels leading to Super Rugby they are quite similar. LI has now put together 4 games this year getting nearly 30 minutes in each off the bench. In many games the Brumbies have had the dominant scrum late in the game including at least some when Lington was on the field.

This sounds like a bit of a beat up for LI, but is intended as a current example of if you're good enough you are old enough. I've enjoyed TK's performances at U20 level over the past couple of years and wish him well in this new challenge. Go Trevor.

He also came off the bench, this weekend past against the Reds. Did a job.

Bit more detail on Harry's injury now that he's back:

Key takeaways are that it was the same arm as last year and he's been doing some work to try and ensure it doesn't happen again.

Are we going to see a Mal Meninga style arm-guard?

Do a short sleeve cotton jersey you cowards!!!
There's been a lot press about and love for the old Temex jerseys recently, I'm pretty hopefully Canterbury are going to jump on this for some great throwback options in the next year or two. Ideally this means short sleeved options as these were pretty standard in the Temex era.

So the Reds are 7 and 6 with a game left, which means they can at best end up with an 8 win regular season - same as Kiss' first year and the 4th time in 5 years.

With some big adds to the team this year, is it a bit of an underachievement?

Hopefully they go on to win the whole thing and make this post look ridiculous

Some of these additions have not had the impact we imagined. Gibbon and Mason didn't play a game. Lukhan has two large injury periods. Flipio and Andersen have been the stand outs. While Canham has some good moments he has hands like feet which has cost us and defensively fell off tackles.

Tactically Les has us playing something they reminds me of Link. We just haven't had the cattle being fit enough or big enough backs.
