He was supposed to be going to Souths when he left Easts, but that changed suddenly. This will be Uru 3rd Premier club in 4 years. Very interesting.
zero chance any of us would be declaring a $2k handshakeI hope Suru is declaring this income with the ATO.
Good for Bloomfield’s development I guess. What do you mean poach back?
Seru had 4/5 years at Easts and left at end 2021 to head to Wests in 2022 where he has been aligned to until the switch to Souths.
Not the first bloke to jump ship from Wests to Souths - SSY, other wallaby look?? but first I have known to play for 3 compass clubs
I hope Souths get a good return at allegedly $2,000 a game from a private donor.
As a bloke who has toiled all year in Prems for love of game & club - I don’t know how thrilled I’d be to pack down with a bloke who is getting $2,000 to run out in my club’s jersey.
I know we live in a different age but there is no loyalty in the modern player.
Easts got Suru out of Fiji and he turned his back on them after winning a premiership and now he’s done the same to Wests.
All the clubs love seeing guys (& girls) advance their careers play in Super Rugby, play abroad, etc but I just hate seeing guys switch clubs for what amounts to pocket money.
I don’t understand why De Lutus switched from Easts to Wests this year?

Reserve Grade yesterday UQ 59 Norths 26 - the run didn’t last longNorths beat Easts in second grade today - that means they have now beaten Wests (1st) & Easts(3rd) in the last 3 weeks sandwiching a 2 point loss to Bond. Norths sit in 5th spot only 2 points in arrears of GPS.
My understanding is that they brought in Kelevi to transition to their Prem Grade Coach - not sure that is working out well for them - their pack is getting owned week after weekI said it earlier in the year and it’s still the case - GPS are a long way from a premiership and need a coach who’s been in a few larger systems to come in and inject some established talent who can help mentor the young guys.
Someone responded to me back then saying to give Sio time because the team was young etc.
That is true - but QPR is an amateur comp where these young guys (particularly those who haven’t come through the colts system) are essentially using it as a stepping stone for a professional gig in Super or overseas. Hard to retain the same young talent year on year for most clubs to build up to a premiership.
I think if you go back a page my comments about paying tax were not a slight against Seru Uru but more so this post. Not sure why anyone is speculating about whether or not Uru is meeting his tax obligations for what is fundamentally legitimate income, whether you like or not. It is pretty fucking disappointing to see the suggestion, seemingly out of nowhere, that he might be operating outside the law. Really low act.
To be honest if anyone or any club is willing to fork out large amounts of money for a player or players it is none of my business - it just goes against the fabric of what I believe a community not for profit rugby club should be and just be careful about the impact it might have on your club’s culture and sustainability.zero chance any of us would be declaring a $2k handshake

It just seems strange in light of this post on the first page of this forum that they can open their cheque book for another forward.South’s are broke as anything and people like vest and herbet collect a paycheck there and haven’t been paid them. Same with Garrick heard moneys running low

That comment was in response to one of yours though:I think if you go back a page my comments about paying tax were not a slight against Seru Uru but more so this post.
