Well have to say I was a bit impressed with the Tahs, I thought the Chiefs looked a bit flat for much of the game, but that could be a mistake,and just not giving Tahs credit for how well they went. Agree Folau went bloody well, seems to be getting to grips with game, and also agree Horne played one of better games I have seen him play, he ever learns to throw passes properly he could be pretty good!!! Thought the forward battle was good, loosies went well for both teams, Hooper keeps playing well, thought Cane has hell of a workrate for Chiefs, doesn't get called a lot as a lot of it in and around rucks, and a couple of times comantators called wrong player when he involved. Still not a fan of Leonard, he does some good stuff,and last night he played one of his better ones, but not sure his brain always in right gear, McKibbon for Tahs is someone I struggle to be impressed with also, (mind you doesn't help I watched him come back to Brissy and play in 1st grade last year at end of season). All in all pretty good game I thought.

Totally agree with everything but especially on Horne. The only thing he failed on was a pass he should have thrown but to focus too much on that would be disingenuous toward his efforts. He has found his best position at 12. Been very good so far this season.

Not a complete performance. About 35 minutes short of it but against any other team we could have run away with that. We are about 70% there I'd say.

Horne should have passed once, the next time he he did and backed up. I thought he did very well

It wasn't snark Richo. I thought he was good. But he will be even better in the Sydney papers this morning.
And I bet the kiwi's think they lost the match and not that the Tah's won it and were the better side.

One sight that made me think that this was the Waratahs of olde was the sight of the little medical truck. There was an injury to a Chief's player and the TV went to a shot of two earnest officials at the truck trying to get it started, to come to the rescue. And they tried. And tried. The officials swapped behind the wheel, looked like they were going through their pockets trying to find the right set of keys. Looking at each other, trying to determine whether the thing had to be refuelled or recharged and then, in a few moments of sheer brilliance, looked as if they were going to push the thing out to the injured player, put him on and then push the thing back off. By this time the injured player had hobbled off. And the medical truck was still stationary. Wanting to go somewhere, but profoundly and farcically listless. Much like the old Tahs. This season's version is different. If nothing else showing an energetic enthusiasm. A good sign.

And I think both sides should be congratulated on putting on an entertaining game and one played in good spirit. I hope the Qld/ ACT game is similar!

I just hope that all those people who said that Folau would never make it in rugby and was a complete waste of money have been watching the Waratahs this season and are reflecting on what he is doing on the field in attack and defence. NSWRU and ARU need to get him on a long term deal that he can't refuse ASAP.

Good performance by the Tahs. They went to sleep for a period in the second half but otherwise very solid.All the big names performed and Folau was top class

It was a great game to watch and I too hope that tonights game is just as good.

I think that the provision of the medical car would be the responsibility of the SCG trust rather than the NSWRU. It would be part of the ground hire agree agreement. I couldn't imagine each different team/code who use the ground bringing their own.

It hasn't been a good week mate. Tah Man had his quad bike repo'ed during the week as well.

He had to suffer the indignity of running around the field instead of driving out.

Timani and Douglas showed why they get Wallaby selections over Pyle/Neville/Jones. Maul defence. They used their big frames and worked their way through the Chiefs mauls and disrupted them before they got going.

Kane Douglas had a huge game, and looked like he had played 160 mins instead of 80. He should be first off the rank to partner Kev in the upcoming tests.

Agree with those touting Douglas as a starting Wallaby lock. When he was first selected for the Wallabies he was very aggressive and really got stuck in. Even had a few kiwis impressed Sully

He seems to have added a bit of finesse to his game whilst still delivering very good maul defence and ruck work.

An impressive performance, particularly in the forwards. Finally we looked like a Wallaby pack. Palu stood up, workrate was immense. The only one who IMO was off the pace was Timani- ball security again an issue, as was discipline. Douglas, on the other hand, was great and should partner Horwill in June.

Folau has to be in the Wallaby squad for the Lions, if not in the 22. Bugger all this shit about 'development', he is now the form outside back in the conference (with Speight). Breaking tackles, offloading, coming in to first receiver and distributing.

Pressure right on Mogg tonight, his 'man of the match' performances are getting further and further away from the here and now. Although I don't think either will play 15, and will probably be looking at wing or bench spots.

An advantage of watching rugby live is seeing the whole field, not the camera close up. A big difference this week was the tahs realignment in defence, especially on turnover ball. All worked hard to get into position.

It was interesting to hear Chieka say on fox that the tahs tried to "manage" the game in the second half, but considering their failure to do so they should probably stick to their game plan and hold the pill.

He also noted the defence improving allowed hooper to do his job, and I fully agree with this.

Was a great atmosphere, but strangely there were fewer kiwis than normal. Usually you can count on a good number, but last night they didn't show

i thought the first 40minutes were proof of what the tahs are capable of. yes the chiefs were "off their game", but i think they were simply rattled by the intensity and quality of the tahs game. it's baffled me all year - how the collective talent of this team consistently plays sub-par. the forward pack is international quality - wallaby front row, with locks and back row who have all worn wallaby jerseys. and the backs aren't far off. yet somehow the tahs have failed to make that class show on the paddock.

the first half last night saw that talent finally on display. if they can maintain that quality for 80 minutes they can beat any team.

and i love seeing the vision of chieka in the sheds at half time full of fire and brimstone. it might have taken a while, but the portents are good that the tahs are starting to shine. the trip to south africa will be a perfect guide as to how they're really traveling.

come on the tahs!
