Man, where is your confidence, I have said enough times the Lions haven't actually won a series this century, it'll be easy!!!!

It has rained all day unfortunately. The forecast is better for tomorrow, let's hope the ground is dry. Otherwise the Loins will kick to the corners all night.

Deans has certainly taken some chances, but I would have picked the same team, under the circumstances.

I will be very surprised if there is not some interchanging of position between Barnes, JOC (James O'Connor), and Lilo - Lilo is a bloody good ten, let us not forget.

I have said it before, it all depends on Palu. If he is close to his best, we will win, because I reckon there is not much otherwise between the two teams.

Listening to a seminar reading through this thread in anticipation for tomorrow night.

My thoughts in this late hour are that Robbie has picked a very balanced, capable team. Folau, Genia and Lilo are our matchwinners, but they will need a dominant forward pack (I'd feel far more comfortable with Pocock and Higgers but it is impressive to see the depth in the backrow).

The Lions look formidable, they are relying heavily on that Phillips-Sexton combination and have serious threats in the back 3. I am not sure they have picked the right team just yet and there have been holes created by injury.

THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!

About time we got some decent beer at Suncorp too, can't wait to get stuck in!

To be honest, the fact that you can get full strength beer at all is a good thing. I was watching a game in the member's stand at ANZ last year, knocking back a few. I went in to the regular stands at half time to meet up with a couple of mates. I bought a round from one of the bars and nearly spat my gulp out in surprise at finding that the masses were only allowed mid strength. Needless to say I was back in member's in minutes.

I'll be watching the game from home tomorrow night with a 6-pack of these.

yeah, it was a surprise coming from the SFS too, where full strength beer is the norm, as well as ciders, and premix spirits in cans.

it must be part of operation Westsafe.

Weather forecast is holding strong. Read some comments from Gatland after he named his side, it appears the Lions were expecting rain.

A mate of mine was just telling me that he read in today's Courier Mail that as Hahn Super Dry is the Beer sponsor of the Wallabies, we'll be able to get it at the game. Fantastic! A decent beer at the footy! He was also saying that there is a 'smart phone app' that allows punters to order and pay for their beers from their seats to reduce queuing times so you miss less of the action. Part of their pioneering beering thing.

I can't find the article anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this? I don't care that much about the app but I would be stoked to be able to buy a Super Dry at the game instead of XXXX Gold!

Today's email from the ARU says the smartphone thing is only for people sitting in sections 314, 315 and 316 and you need to download a QkR app. So must just be a test run. Doubt it will work overly well though as anyone not on Telstra network will have bugger all connectivity inside the stadium anyway.

Thankfully I am sitting in 334 so will be going to the full strength bar all night.

Same section as myself, if your sitting near an Irish bloke who is lamenting everything Tom Croft does say hello!

Jeez this afternoon is going slowly in work, if I'm this pumped more than 24 hours before the game what is it going to be like tomorrow evening!

Just saw the "Rooting for the wallabies" sign in a paddock at Tullamarine Airport (on Ch 10 News). Was wondering if the Roo copulating with a Lion would show up!!
Mrs Doug and I love it!!

Cliffy Palu: "injury scare", no details. I hope he's ok.

I just saw this article from AAP on The Roar
"Both the Wallabies and the British and Irish Lions have dismissed injury doubts over key players heading into tomorrow night’s first Test at Suncorp Stadium.
Wallabies number eight Wycliff Palu failed to train at Australia’s final training session at Suncorp Stadium today while Lions duo Tom Croft and Jonathan Davies also missed the tourists’ captain’s run.
Australian officials insist the powerful Palu, who has been battling a lingering knee problem, is fit and will line up but is having his training workload managed.
Likewise, Lions defence coach Andy Farrell says blindside flanker Croft and inside centre Davies were also rested as a precaution."

Ok so we bring MMM into 6 and Mowen to 8 - Gill comes on at 60 and pull MMM off - fixed

I don't think I have ever seen so little bickering amongst members as the last few days. Would almost make me sick if it wasn't for such a good cause.

Just watched the classic match on my laptop. Latho seems to still have all the skills.

Classic ANZACS won 29-5. A good omen for tomorrow?

Guys all this talk about flyhalves and 'combinations' and back rows etc it great and all but there is a bigger issue for tomorrow's game. The beer available at Suncorp!

Who needs a smart phone app. I'm in one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world and at the game against Wales at the weekend they had girls walking around the stands with trays of chilled canned beer to sell. Then for anyone who went to the actual bother of going down to queue for beer they were selling it by the jug.

I don't know what beer they were selling as my girlfriend brought along a couple of six-packs of Asahi, but it looked like Suntory.

Technological advancement is great and all, but sometimes you can't beat a pretty girl with beer on hand.

Ok my thoughts on the game....Can't believe the team that the Aussies picked. In the lead up I often read comments about experience etc being crucial to the tests against the Brittish Lions. I agree experience is important and a balance between experience and performance in Super games needs considering. I believe the selection of berrick Barnes at 15 is a big mistake and even at 10 would be a big mistake (just have a look how well the Reds have gone without him and how well the Tahs play without him)...he is not in our top squad in any position. JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 is also a mistake as he has limited experience at test level there and is a better finisher than an organiser (perhaps thats why LeLe is at 12 in case it all goes pear shaped but he to has no International experience). The pack I believe will do ok but may not get the go forward needed for these inexperienced guys to settle. The backline where cohesion is needed is very new together and this will be costly and we are giving up a very good avantage as I believe the opportunities to beat the BL is in mid field.
