Sounds biased coming from me, but if Cruden were to go down Anscombe is a more than capable five eighth and Robinson the same at fullback. Both of these lads are also damn good field kickers.
If it's Cruden's ability to set the pace of the game TKB is also a fine substitute in this area of the game.

The more this week progresses the more confident I become. Don't worry i'll still be cacking it right before kick off.
Once again best of luck and enjoy our shores to those lucky enough to find tickets and make the trip.

Interesting and surprising article about the stats for the Chiefs.

Dunno wht the guy is trying to show there? Considering he haven't mention their excellent rucking percentage. Then there is the fact that possession is not a guarantee of success. And the impact of the set piece also changed in 2009. Whereas over the lineout has been the major possession vehicle from which tries were scored it changed to scrums and of course since the law tweaks have been done to favor kiwi teams they can now resume scoring tries like they did prior Jake White era thats of kick returns. So no more passing back to 22 and booting it out. You have to take the risk. Kiwis lost WC's like that but everyone is forced to do that meant everyone lost it as well

He is showing that despite the least possession of any Super side and also the worst lineout, yet they placed top of the table. - to most sane rugby followers, that is a surprising statistic.

Whenever people are surprised by stats I just mention the following 3 lines.

First prize: Bust the line.
Second prize: Build momentum.
Third prize: Squeeze a penalty.

The possession one shouldn't be a surprise anymore. Possession stats haven't been a reliable indicator of the likely result for years. Some teams are very good at using the ball they get and score or go close to scoring quickly after receiving it. Other teams hold onto the ball for long periods of time, keeping the ball close to the forwards and hoping to recycle it until they get an opportunity to score.

I hate to bring it back to NZ, but the All Blacks tend not to get a majority of possession in their games, yet they do OK.
