Sure you're not reading too much into this?
I note it's dated 20/7 so it hasn't just been announced.

Dave, in the Manly games I've seen this year I found it very hard to single out any individual, the whole team just seemed to be performing at the same high level. But you've obviously seen a lot more than me.

Do you really think a hooker could win given the problems front rows have with referees (or is it the other way around ;))?

Hookers deserve MOM every game.
It is the jumpers fault never the hookers,
They lead the scrum,
and play like another loose forward,

Since the Hobbits beat the Woodies on Sunday, the spectre of the unlikeable Grand Final raises its ugly head. Similar to the Manly vs Melbourne Storm GF in Mungoball several years ago, there is a distinct possibility of a GF between The Corporation vs Manly Marlins. Many punters would rather barrack for no-one if this were the case.

While the Marlins aren't the Sea Eagles, there are plenty who dislike them because of the geographic association with their Mungoland namesakes. The Corporation needs no introduction, and has plenty of welded on haters.

The Hobbits have really put the cat right in the centre of the pigeon flock with their well earned victory over the classy Woodies side.

Not sure how the rookie is chosen but Andrew Kellaway is the best young player I've seen this year even though he only played a few games.

I would have no issue with Kellaway however I believe Kovacic has done a great job this season after taking over the reigns from Gareth Palamo.

Rookie, again dont know the assessment method but Dane Chisholm went alright.
Missed leading point scorer by 1 point but had 6 fewer games than the leading point scorer - tries and goals so he must have been doing something right.

It was the issue as I understand it but I'm informed all sorted now .....another battle in the long war with the corporation

HJ I can't quite agree here. Over the season I haven't read too much antagonism against MMM - one or two only. However, the other mob have had a number of detractors over the years. We all know anyone's second team is that one playing against Uni. If the GF is that one I believe Manly will have overwhelming support

Agree, I think a Manly victory would be deserved and well received.

MMM have played fantastic footy all year and probably don't deserve any crossover tribalism from the Sea Eagles, especially when you note that they could be up against the Corporation.

Is everyone going to the footy this weekend barefoot to encourage the Hobbits in their semi against Buildcorp?

Hard to build animosity against the MMM when they have some of the nicest pies at the oval, and 4 Pines Brewery is within an easy stumble of the ground.

One suspects that it will be a very popular victory for the Marlins, although one fears that @Dave Beat's keyboard could meltdown.:)
