Gee that is the third (pardon the pun) Queenslander heading to Brumby territory in the last month after Aiden Toua, Tim Sampson, Mitch Third. That's after we have also lost Phil Kite, Smith Bros, Jarrad Butler & Blake Enever to the Brumbies in the preceding two years.

Can the Reds recover in the short term with this continual talent drain to the ACT?

Good luck to Third because he was behind McIntyre, Green, Dalgleish.

This is what the 5 provinces is suppose to achieve - I.e. Spread of talent and give guys an opportunity.

I appreciate that there has also been a player drain to other Aust provinces and OS.

Further that you can't keep everyone, but there is some talent in the list above.

I was dissapointed to hear that Jack Mullins knocked back a Bne City spot due to study commitments because he provided great utility value for Bne City having played 9,10,12 & 13 in the NRC but his halfback spot has probably gone directly to Tim Smith which is a great opportunity for one of the most consistent players not just for the Bulldogs but in the comp over the last couple of seasons.

Thierry, I would support the move for Logan to join the Premier Comp provided they consistently dominated and won reserve grade. Unfortunately, their last game in 2013 resulted in them getting a 50 point belting in the prelim final against the eventual winners, GPS. I also can't recall if they've ever won or even involved in a G/F either. Not sure you can read too much into them winning 1st grade (read: third grade) in 2014.

Doggies fans, is it true that Sylvan Road is getting a make over? Heard something about significant redevelopment occurring in the next few years?

Yeah mate.

The Main Oval will be realigned instead of running East to West it will become a North to South Orientation layout. The Clubhouse will then be built on the western touchline.

It involves cutting into partial bit of the Memorial Hill but it will provide a new grassy seated area.

Any thoughts on QRU decision to re-appoint Richard Graham?

Seems like the Herbert/Graham combination is going back to the old firm of their Ashgrove/GPS days.

What impact will it have on 2016 Reds memberships?

SX, has there been any significant opposition to the cutting in of Memorial Hill? I seem to recall reading somewhere that a few groups had lobbied against it.

Yes there have been some who are claiming that it will impact on the heritage value of the memorial and impact on the memorial itself.
I believe the DA has been approved already though.

Yeah the DA has been approved. There was some concerns in the community which were not passed onto/overlooked/signed off by relevant authorities...

Wests would of consulted with the council, govt and local community. Higher powers that be have signed off on project... there's some self serving interests within communities who will always want to stop development... I'm sure the developer will take extra care of the trees otherwise there will be big blowback in the local papers/talkback radio etc

Why would the Reds sign Daniel Vidot from the Broncos (but playing for the Ipswich Jets) when they wouldn't/couldn't sign someone like Jonah Placid last year.

Surely there are guys in QPR who would be better value than Vidot.

On your first point. Well Vidot and Placid are very different players. And their contractual situation at the end of 2014 is very different to the one at the end of 2015.

On your second point. How would there surely be? Surely if there were any players in QPR who had the ability to make is as a full time professional in either code, they would not be playing QPR. Maybe there could be some, but it's less likely.

TWAS my point is that someone like Junior who played #15 for Bne City last night would be cheaper than Vidot.

I think Vidot would be great if he came off because he is a big unit but I just don't want the Reds paying big $$ to get him, he needs to come over on an incentive based contract. We want value for money.

My point with Placid is that the Reds invested in him through their pathways program and then he ends up at another Super Franchise just when he is ready to provide a return on the development investment.

This may end in tears, but hopefully not.

Anyone able to set aside tribal club loyalties and keen to nominate their QPR 2015 Merit Team of the Year?
Requirement: Must have played at least 7 games in QPR.
