NFL players wear helmets but it doesn't seem to offer much protection wrt concussion & eventual CTE. More protection against cuts & abrasions I would think.

Edit: snap @Wilson.

Headgear helps for cuts and abrasions (eg ears) but there is lots of evidence that is actually has a negative impact on concussion safety.

They don't stop the brain sloshing around inside your skull and players wearing them seem to be willing to stick their head into worse places.

Yep - acceleration / deceleration of the brain inside a rigid box is the problem.

can we just start a seperate thread to debate Tom Lynagh's abilities. Maybe call it "if you think Tom Lynagh isnt shit you must be from Qld".

In the final moments of the game last night we should've kept it tight and tried to just rumble up to at least the half way line, as theoretically a penalty at that point could've won us the game.

Not sure why we tried to go coast to coast when we were consistently on the back foot -- we hadn't earned the right to go wide at that stage, and it seemed desperate/low confidence.

It’s a tough one because the more phases at that stage of the game, theoretically the more chance we also make an error with fatigued bodies and minds.

When you’re camped in your own half in the final moments of a game, there needs to be some element of risk taking to ensure you don’t die wondering.

We did go Harry W to Valetini at the front of pods back and forth a few times and made somewhere between 0 and -2m each phase

The Pumas stopped committing any numbers to the breakdown and were fanning out ready for the wide passing game as we chased that final try. A few rapid pick and goes from the ruck would’ve been super effective. Gain some ground and suck more defenders in.

Don’t need to win at Eden Park, I will settle for a draw and then win in Perth. All Blacks will be hurting and will come out strong but they are vulnerable

Paisami actually had a couple of great runs
Then stuffed it with a kick and offloads to no one

His kick along with the two mid field kicks from I think white and edmed when we had the ball near there 22 hurt us, finally had possession and kick it away
Lack of patience and building of phases

Toole is locked in for next game isn't he? Don't have any other options. Pietsch isn't back I assume. Is Potter fit? Daugunu could start.. Nawaqanitawase would've helped with the high balls.
