NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

Mate, I like a good sledge as much as anyone, I was responding to your comment about shopping at Chatswood Chase being enough to be considered a Gordon junior. Getting into the Gordon district team can be difficult with 8 village clubs and some good players are happy just to play for their...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

In that case, I gather from this thread that the central coast is in Manly. If Frost has shopped at Chatswood Chase that's within 100m of a Gordon village club. Much closer than the central coast is to Manly. To all the other players selected that have shopped at Chatswood Chase, the Gordon...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

In their last round against scots they won 17, lost 11 and drew 1. For a total of 608 points for and 528 against. 13As, 15As, & 16As won.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

Yes, it seems like the MIC of rugby has been able to institute some sort of programme to improve their development.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

Seems rather unlikely given that, according to Mr Jarse, last year 5 members of combined states had previously been selected by NSW as shadows.

Rixon might be blindingly quick, but there is not a chance in hell that he could beat Azzuri to 4 of those.

    Demise of the Waratah Shield?

I think this would prove particularly difficult for Eastwood and Gordon in particular as 90% of their players are at GPS/CAS/ISA schools. Considering the fact that the schools like to stick to their traditional associations, it's hard too see this as a solution.

2016 NSW JRU State Championships June 11th-13th

There is a new site that sort of works. It's easy to use, you just phone one of the 10 people in Sydney that can get it to work.

2016 NSW JRU State Championships June 11th-13th

I guess if you have to travel all over Sydney for games, travelling somewhere for training isn't a real biggy.

Did they win? If not maybe they needed more.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

There also needs to a focus on not so good big players and not so good small players because kids get it at different rates. Some of these kids will develop into much better players later on, others rugby enthusiasts, and some potential sponsors. The more that are retained through good coaching...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

There isn't really an easy solution to this problem. Kids develop at different rates both physically and mentally. Many kids are perfectly capable of mixing it with much bigger kids. While physical size is a great advantage, a larger player can't rely on that alone, the skilled smaller player...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

In Shore's case enrolment success led to complacency, at best. They did at least manage to build a magnificent grandstand to watch their under-resourced 1st XV lose each week. Shore now seems to have worked out that they actually need to have a rugby programme, for it to work, they need to...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I am not sure what you mean NIS. It seems as though Newington, Scots and Kings do not have the depth of joeys, Riverview or shore. They have too few players to have viable A teams without recruiting good players. Joeys and Riverview have discovered that giving bursaries to disadvantaged...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I have heard similar things from other parents there, who are fans of Vallance. I also know families that have chosen other schools based on their son's desire to play sport, mainly rugby.

I have seen a couple of kids there that seem to be in year 7 or 8.

So you are saying even though he had never played rugby before and was selected over 90 other kids, many of whom have been playing rugby for years, the kid doesn't have "serious rugby talent"?
