BGS gets up over TSS with the last play of the game. It's days like this where you just have to say 'too good'. Well done Brisbane Grammar, well done.

As Coastboy said, Third is due to return this week, but I am interested to know why you think a BGS victory is so 'likely'. Personally, I can't split the teams - in fact I think I have previously alluded to how similarly both sides play. Despite my admitted bias towards Southport, I can just see...

Third out is fairly significant, but Gibson stepped up against State High although this will be a far tougher challenge. Perrin returns while Brown drops back to the 16A's. I hope for Brisbane Grammar's sake that they don't underestimate Churchie - they are due. Likewise to Terrace against...

Yes agreed, I've watched him against BGS and now TSS, and he hasn't shown anything to be impressive enough to be called into the Aus squad. Particularly considering that he has essentially been a direct replacement for Jack Cornelson of BGS, who has been very impressive in the game that I have...

Anyone want to provide a report about the BGS BBC game? 51-37, quite extraordinary.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2012

TSS got up over State High 46-12 today, fulfilling most people's predictions of around 35 points. From a Southport perspective, the team can't afford to play anything below their best in the next two weeks against Toowoomba and Brisbane Grammar, but it is difficult to gauge a performance...

Also, TSS struggled in the first game against Ippy, with Fielea struggling to get the ball out to his wingers. Did Aiono have that same effect in his first game back? Anyone who went to the game, what were your thoughts on the respective teams?

I was at the Village Green yesterday, watching TSS take on Churchie. TSS eventually got up 38-21, but I thought they had control throughout. I won't give a report but I thought Papworth really stood up against the ACGS backrow, as did Third, winning the contest against Eason. In the second half...

I might add that it will also be interesting to view the backrow battle, particularly in regards to the breakaways. Brown (6), Papworth (7), Gunn (6) and MacMillan (7) are all essentially opensides, so the four on the park at the same time will be intriguing.

By all reports, it seems that BBC were able to monster the Churchie inside backs, particularly through Fakaosilea against McClanachan. It will be interesting to see whether Fielea and Cooney can have the same effect for TSS. On paper alone, which this season hasn't been a great indicator, it...

Good to see that the performing TSS boys have been recognised. Look for Dorrough and Nathan who should feature at 12 and 11 respectively for either team. I can attest to the fact that Halliday looked quite impressive, particularly in defence, but could the younger Tuttle move to 10 to...

I witnessed a blowout like you're describing when they versed Grammar. State High really need to address how they approach the second half/fitness levels.

I think their loss against Ipswich was just as interesting, and would have sent the team back down to earth. The Southport boys always seem to find something extra against the Blue and White.

Brisbane: Backs: - Sam Greene (10/15) Aus 'A' - Jack Tuttle (12) Aus 'A' Forwards: - Postale (2) Aus 'A' - Tarr/Sikimeti (1/3) - Someone previously mentioned some odd selections with props with regards to positioning so these two have been outstanding for their...

And yes, it was great to see the distribution of the TSS backs improve significantly, particularly for Fielea to get it out to the wings.

Disagree - I think you're underestimating the threats that are posed to BGS through Ipswich, Nudgee (Ross), TSS and Churchie. It is a tough run to the end of the season for them, having already gone past State High and their bye. Reports of an injury to their impressive 7 and prop, as well as...

Very exciting game at Ross this afternoon with the Southport boys getting a win. From the outset they looked like a team that really wanted to send a threat to the rest of the competition after a loss to Ippy. TSS pack strengthened significantly by Guttenbiel, slotting into the second row, but...
