Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

I watched the game again yesterday. McCaw strips Higgenbottom of the ball in about the 13th?? minute. I had to wonder if he was a tad annoyed about the indignity and let it spill over.

    Foreign recruitment

I say Good luck to Mike Harris,a super contract wasn't on offer for him in NZ so he took his chances and is now playing test rugby. I favour keeping the status qo with regard to picking only NZ based players for the AB team and also our ITM championship restricted to NZ players. Hansen is a...

Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

I believe they were team warnings.

Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

Quite right ,bring back proper rucking. But as I recall it was the Boks and the AB's who were the masters of that. I think Higgenbottom''s actions were dumb, a yellow card or worse at that time may have had a huge impact on the game. To quote McCaw from his book"'players like that get sorted out"'

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

Yes we have some winkwonkers in our press corps, and we have some who are fair minded as well. It's a matter of sifting the wheat from the chaff and the game is still the main event. I'm expecting the Wallabies to have a red hot go tonight, and why not. On paper we look to be too strong, but...

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

The AB's aren't making any claims about winning, they are taking the game very seriously indeed I can assure you. Perhaps some hack journos are spouting that sort of rubbish. But who takes any notice of what they write anyway. At the end of the day it's a test match between the two top rated...

All Blacks sponsored by the US taxpayer.

AIG haven't secured the naming rights Slim, that is still up for grabs, what about Green and Gold having a whip around and securing the naming rights? That way you could have a bob each way:)

All Blacks sponsored by the US taxpayer.

Apparently the AIG deal does not include naming rights, still the NZ All Blacks, sevens, etc. The Adidas deal is about $20 million per annum and the AIG one is very close to this figure.

All Blacks sponsored by the US taxpayer.

The logo on the AB's jersey does not have the white border around it. I think fans will barely notice it during the anthems and probably not at all during the game. I'm for it as well.

All Blacks sponsored by the US taxpayer.

First TV polls tonight , NZ public 74% hate it,24% ok"d it.

I believe the AB's will be doing their utmost to win as they have their eyes firmly focused on setting a record for consecutive wins. So no talk of a dead rubber.

A honest question from a Kiwi about Richie and Australia

I am in my seventies, played rugby, watched rugby all my life. In that time I've seen a lot of players from many countries in action. Can't think of one that I seriously disliked, even among the players I knew. In one team I was picked for we toured in Australia, [more than fifty years ago]. The...

    Richie McCaw biography

It was common knowledge over here that the senior AB group supported the Henry/Hansen/Smith bid. McCaw is just telling it how it was.

Here is an opinion on Aussie rugby

I agree. In the absence of a third tier competition it is essential that Australia keep five teams in the Super Rugby even if one or two were to struggle a bit at times.Filling out the numbers with overseas players may not be helpful long term.

2012 Rugby Championship Round 6 Game 1 South Africa vs New Zealand- 6 Oct

Looking forward to this game. Win,lose or draw these are the test matches that us Kiwis most look forward to. Forget dead rubbers, jetlag, and all that rubbish. This could be a cracker of a game.
