Quade telling it how it is

I wonder if the lack of a third tier competition has some influence on young wallaby "stars" One week they are playing club rugby and the next are catapaulted into the international arena. Heady stuff. I know when I played rugby, many moons ago, working your way up through the grades not only...

    2012 – ITM CUP - NZ's 3rd Tier Competition

I follow ITM premiership and club and manage to watch a fair bit of the heartland comp as well. I attend local games, sometimes watch but seldom attend super rugby games. Follow all internationals that are televised. Mind you being retired I have the time to do this.

Quade telling it how it is

Strueth! What a thread. Cooper sure has the ability to make a dick of himself. I think the best thing that could happen for Wallaby rugby right now is for Kurtley Beale to play a blinder in SA.And I hope he does. After witnessing the circus surrounding SBW during the time he was in NZ I...

2012 Rugby Championship Round 4 Game 1 New Zealand vs South Africa - 15 Sep

Greyling paid dearly for a moment of madness. Didn't seem to bother McCaw too much or slow him down. It was a typical torrid battle against our traditional rivals.

2012 Rugby Championship Round 3 Game 2 NZ vs Argentina - 8 Sep

I think this game could be quite close. Bad weather is predicted and I like to see Carter running the ship when conditions dictate a forward battle. God help Henry if the Pumas win:)

The dying - perhaps death - of Rugby in Australia.

Don't think so. Apart from not having a second win in the WC tournament the All Blacks still had a pretty impressive record and commanded the lions share of the media reports. Interestingly the news this morning reported that soccer had more junior players than rugby in New Zealand

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

I often wondered about that, particularly when members on here are formulating teams pre-match. I just put it down to a lack of player depth,or of course in some cases injuries. I know a loss is always a bitter pill to swallow, however I think some of you blokes are a tad hard on your players[and...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

I thought Codex was a bit patronising as well. The Wallabies will have their day for sure. In the meantime I'm all for doing our best to see they remain number two. However I do enjoy a good game and salute the winner, whoever it may be.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

Let's all hope Mr Owen allows for some non stop flowing rugby.or is that too much to expect from a NH ref? Wallabies appear to have a good blend of experience and enthusiastic youth this week and the backline should certainly have more flair. I'm looking forward to a great game. I think your...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

It's being reported in the press over here that the Wallabies, according to Timani ,do not intend to continue being nice to the AB's this week. Jeez we are done for.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 2 New Zealand vs Australia - 25 August

There is quite a lot to work on during the week, there was some sloppy passing and finishing evident in Bledisloe 1. A couple or three of the newer players need more game time to slot in better I think, I doubt Steve Hansen will make any changes to the starting fifteen. There is some concern...

2012 Rugby Championship Game 1 Australia vs New Zealand - 18 August

And so to Eden Park. I thought the Ref, although in all probability technically correct, didn't allow the game to flow thereby affecting the Australian and New Zealand style of play . Both sides produced error ridden performances the more costly of which were made by the Wallabies.

2012 Rugby Championship Game 1 Australia vs New Zealand - 18 August

Well I am looking forward to the game this evening. The two top teams in the world going hard at it. On any given day either one can topple the other.I can tell you there is just as much nervousness on this side of the ditch as some of you blokes are displaying. Let's all hope for a great game...

    Quade Cooper's defence this year

I think we are yet to see the best of Quade Cooper. Not all Kiwis dislike him, even if he is from Tokoroa. He is an exciting player to watch, and frankly I would sooner have had him on our side of the deeetch.:)

    No more SBW in black

In three years time we may well be saying Sonny Who? There is a lot of good young talent coming through the system.

    SANZAR v Lions

I don't like the concept at all, and fortunately neither do the the All Black coaches. I'm thinking Australia will beat the Lions without our help just as we beat them without yours.:)

    New Zealand vs Ireland

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. The stats don't lie, NZ were marginally the better side. All I've heard all week from the press is that Ireland could have, should have won. In truth they almost secured a draw. But not to knock them I admired their tenacity they certainly...

    New Zealand vs Ireland

That is a the sort of dumb comment FrankLind that shouldn't be seen on a public forum. That Irish player should be cited for eyegouging. Hopefully he will be.

McCaw finds a new way to cheat

I thought he played very well in Brisbane and is in my opinion the current master of the breakdown. Players come and players go perhaps in years to come the arguement may be about who was the best [or worst] cheat. Mc Caw or Pockock :D

    Robbie Deans

Not so Gagger. The Crusaders performed well before Deans took over, continued to do so in spite of him being coach,[and it wasn't always rosy in the camp either] and they continue to perform well without him being there. Lets not forget he was hailed as a messiah by sections of the Australian...
