    Julian Savea

Why would he play for an Island team? He was born in Wellington. At 106kg he isn't near as big as Jonah was at that age. Still a very impressive runner.

Otago Rugby Union to be Liquidated

Of course this is just the start of the rot. Other provinces will fall like a house of cards resulting in a flood of players emigrating to Australia and Samoa. Until finally there is only one province and super team left in NZ. Auckland.

Graham Henry: "That little prick [Quade] Cooper helped us.''

And that's fair enough, just as what happens on the field,or on tour stays on the field etc, so too should lighthearted comments made at a private rugby function.

    The Haka

As a Haka I quite like it. It is unique to the AB's being specially written for them. The words are relative to the game and make more sense than Kamate. But yes if they kept the cutting edge below or across the chest it perhaps wouldn't look so threatening. My high school had it's own haka as...

    The Haka

Following criticism after it was first performed the guy who wrote it is supposed to have said that the throat slit represented the cutting edge of sport. That is what was reported in the papers. They seemed to tone that bit down for a while but now seem to have gone back to it.

    The Haka

The Haka should just be viewed as a piece of pre kickoff theatre. I thought the France response was fantastic, and I note the AB'S thought so as well. Compelling opposing teams to stand like wooden dummies is the wrong approach. If we are to have the haka then let it all hang out and not be so...

    Rougeries's eye gouge

Ah now your talking. The game has never been the same since rucking was banned.

    Rougeries's eye gouge

No. Not at all because it was torrid and very desperate toward the end,but rather the fact that McCaw has let it go.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

Glad you found some footage to enjoy while you suck your breakfast lemon.

    Rougeries's eye gouge

Mc Caw is not complaining or blaming anyone, if he can let it go, so should we. It was a fairly torrid and desperate last quarter.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

    Meads was an eyegouger??

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

I doubt the AB's would care who had pissed in it at the moment. Here''s a bit of intrigue for you. Somebody posted that Mc Caw didn't acknowledge the French team following the game, and that there wasn't the usual post game courtesies.Reports have surfaced that an AB received a good going over...

    Did Joubert feel the pressure?

Most of us would prefer to see open flowing rugby, but this was finals footie, trench warfare, win at all costs with minimum risks. Rugby probably came third.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

Buggered if I know Nugget. I don't think any team deserves to win, they either win, lose or draw. In this game I think we escaped with a win,but we'll take it and celebrate it. As we all know it's been a long time between drinks.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

    Sigh!

    Congratulations NZ

Weepu was injured during the warmup, and there was some doubt as to whether he was fit to play.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

For the record, Piri Weepu was a doubtful starter after suffering an injury during the warm up. Probably explains why he performed below par and also had trouble landing kicks.

RWC FINAL - New Zealand vs France

It sure was a tight one one,but scrape home we did. I still say that the AB's played their final last week against Australia.

    Congratulations France

Rubbish! There is nothing better when performing a Haka on the field than to have the opposing team respond in some manner. The whole respect thing has become a bit precious. I say that both teams should remain on their own side of halfway, but anything goes.

    Congratulations NZ

The choirs are hopefully out there celebrating, I too thought they added a lot to the tournament. We scraped home but will rejoice in the win,France really took it to us and the game was anybodys until the final whistle. You could contact Martin Snedden at RWC NZ regarding the choirs.
