Semi Final - Brumbies vs Jaguares, Sat 29 June, 9:05 am (AEST)

That's depressing. And not just for the Brumbies but my confidence in the Wallabies now too. As awesome as the Jags were, we would have lost to the Sunwolves this morning.

Semi Final - Brumbies vs Jaguares, Sat 29 June, 9:05 am (AEST)

Refs been worse than the Brumbies in this 2nd half. Not that it's made any real difference. Old fashioned thrashing this.

That's the game. Just not our night unfortunately.

Desperately needed. For Fainga'a as much as the Brumbies. Glimmer of hope.

Amazing how bad he's been. I'd be a vastly superior option right now. Complete contrast to the rest of the year.

Jags are certainly on fire. But this is a worrying choke from the Brumbies. If they can't handle pressure, it doesn't bode well for the Wallabies.

Worst Fainga'a has ever played by a space so far.

Nothing like bulk caffeine at 8:50am. Someone better wake Slim.

Semi Final - Brumbies vs Jaguares, Sat 29 June, 9:05 am (AEST)

Gee the gap between our best hooker and the rest is off the charts. Fainga'a is probably the most valuable player in the team. As for the non-Brumbies experiment, the team looks extremely dire, particularly in the tight 5. Playing guys on the wrong side of the scrum like that is probably the...

Depends how interesting the world cup match is - might knock off early.

Between the 3 of us we nailed it. Alarms set and fingers crossed now.

KB (Kurtley Beale) is really suited to that 23 jersey. There's a few players like that - you wonder if it works to their disadvantage. E.g. Assuming Hooper and Pocock don't both start so we play a specialist 7 on the bench, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is basically pigeonholed into that other bench spot, where he might start on merit.

I'd say Kepu is the extra prop in the 31 but behind AAA/Tupou. Simmons seems like a stretch to make the 30 behind Arnold, Rodda, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Philip and Coleman, Phipps even more so behind Genia, Powell and White, and the others I agree can only make the 40 man cut at best.

It's a moot point this year. Hooper, Foley and Beale are the only Tahs in the 23, and there's every chance none of them will start.

Looks about right. I'd probably swap Cusack and Brown but it's much of a muchness. Hope they can do the job and the Canes pull off a miracle in Christchurch. I'm due for a trip to the capital.

Is he eligible for the World Cup? Another spanner in the works.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

He's just a drastically weaker all round player than Genia and Powell (and maybe White) and could only possibly be considered by ignoring the previous 12 months and saying we've picked him before so he must be fine.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I just think he's so far ahead of Phipps right now it's a no-brainer to make that plan A. But as you say, we'll see what happens. In regards to combinations, I'm assuming Lilo and Foley are the frontrunners for playmakers. Initially I listed Genia, Lilo starting with Powell, Foley on the bench...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Well that's what we need to find out - whether he can do the same thing on the back of a pack which is less dominant. Currently he seems a step faster than every other halfback in the country, both in arrival and delivery. Assuming Genia starts, that's a pretty significant boost at the back end...
