    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

With most rounds being a bye-athon & clubs being unable to field teams SIRU is struggling at the moment. Tahs 3rds are probably gone for the season anyway given they forfeited 2nds yesterday. I heard their 1sts only have 6 of the original group of preferred players running around in the team...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

Blacks have good recent form but Waratahs are usually confident against Griffith so maybe the Blues 1 - 12. Bulls will probably be too good for Steamers and Aggies in a close game against Reds. If Waratahs 3rds situation is covid related they should survive. If not….

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

I did hear that Griffith travelled to Wagga with a 3rd grade team only to find when they got there that Waratahs were forfeiting. 1st & 2nd grade Blacks were at Tumut. Surely a travelling team should be given more respect.

Don’t comprehendo Mauler? Isn’t there only 4 first grade teams playing this weekend. Griffith, Tumut, Waratahs & Albury.

City, Aggies, Waratahs, Reddies, Albury & Griffith - top division. 1st grade, 2nds & Womens. Next division Hay, Leeton, Tumut & a 2nd Griffith club. One team clubs. Last year Griffith had over 90 registrations.

We can surely agree that attempting to include Hay into the draw as if they were a club instead of a being a single team hasn’t worked. People won’t want to admit it but if we don’t change the way the comp is structured next year so that all players get consistent opportunities to play, SIRU...

You’re right in that way Bubba. Away record not that great. Blacks do have trouble sometimes with work commitments. A lot of our players do shift work & can get called into work with little notice so that can cause havoc on game day. The club did have a dreadful attitude towards travelling in...

Disagree with Bubba re Griffith & travelling. Unlike past eras Blacks travel as well as any other club these days. Having said that I reckon Steamers might win. The other games probably go the way of City & Tahs. I wonder what impact the lack of playing opportunities this year ( 3 1st grade...

2 1st grade games & 4 2nd grade games? 2 1st grade games in a round of rugby? I know we are transitioning & still struggling with covid but surely another draw needs to be done.

Siru FB report says Waratahs v Leeton 2nd grade 34 - 0, Reasoning. Unless Phantoms had some or a lot of players involved in both games.

You would imagine that SIRU could see the logic in what you put forward here Reasoning. I also think that clubs should be honest before Round 9 about what grades they can actually offer. Leeton’s girls team have forfeited at least once & have been struggling on the scoreboard in most games. I...

I was away for the day Mauler so I didn’t get to watch Blacks v City game. Have to be happy with the result though given the quality of the opposition. I’m sure we’ll see a manipulation of the draw Reasoning given the woes of Leeton.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

When Hay played Reddies in 2nd grade last Saturday, Reddies 1st, Womens & 3rd grades had to sit out. Griffith 1st, Womens, 2nd & 3rd grades had to sit out. So that Hay 2nd grade was afforded an opportunity to play rugby last Saturday 7 other teams couldn’t play. No wonder we are having a lot of...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

In past eras we’ve had clubs have players play 2nd grade as well as 1st grade to fulfill commitments. Visiting clubs should forfeit and get help to form a team from the home club. It’s not healthy for players to play 2 games one after the other.

Leeton are probably going to find it even more difficult in the next couple of rounds Mauler (have they got Steamers & Waratahs away). Could the draw be re organised with Hay becoming Leeton’s 2nd grade. Perhaps Griffith could assist Leeton with some players in the short term. We have 3 men’s...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

I know uncontested scrums don’t constitute a forfeit if that situation eventuates once a game has started. Not sure if your team has to forfeit if you can’t contest scrums for the entirety of the match. Whole draw revolves around Hay. Whichever club plays Hay the rest of that club has to sit...

Judging from above comments every team is going to struggle against City. Tumut & Leeton probably competing to avoid the spoon. Interest seems to be who is going to make semis. Waratahs will be there. Aggies will improve their chances markedly with a victory on Saturday.

So Central, at this stage of the season what betting odds would you reckon would be fair odds about City winning the big dance - $1.50, $2.00 or $2.50?

Mitchell White is definitely out for Blacks and possibly Chris Latu. Griffith absolutely monstered Steamers in the scrum department so we (Blacks) might have an advantage there. Waratahs at home will be a different story than what we have faced so far in Steamers, Phantoms & Bulls. Reckon...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2022

Griffith v Tumut game closer than score line suggests. Bulls dominated scrums until prop was injured near 1/2 time. Then there was uncontested scrums. Blacks are competent across the paddock but don’t really have that X factor player. Bulls will be hard to beat at home. Interesting game ahead...
