    Qld GPS Rugby 2022

You have to wonder if this sort of "designed dominance" is going to be the undoing of the rugby program in time. Nudgee certainly don't figure as strongly academically.

I am struggling a bit to understand why Souths Prems are "strugglers" and yet the Magpies are at the top of the table in Reggies and Third grade. Seems like there is a problem with "self selection" or grade stacking to win premierships or something else in the senior grades??

    QLD Colts 2022

It's not what has gone wrong at GPS, it is more how good the UQ Colts were with many of them stepping up and playing their guts out and for each other. Too many big mouths in the GPS teams who were more intent in trying to pick fights and argue with the referees. The disrespect shown on the...

Scored 2 tries and won the game for the Tigers. Timely 3rd grade comeback in an important game for both teams. Smells of side stacking to me.

Call it for what it is......side stacking to win important games.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2022

The disrespect (and that's putting it lightly) being given to our refs by players and coaches has got out of hand in my view across all teams. Quite simply, it has to stop now and the QRU and clubs need to step up and support our officials to ensure we can continue to play the game we all love...

Is the Rugby Game Days/Explorer app helping address the side stacking and eligibility issues??

"I just think it was hard for any team to score points on such a greasy deck" - really??? What was the score in Premier Grade again??? Let me think back...51-15.

Hardly call a 17-14 win for Easts convincing. A penalty goal the difference between the Red Heavies and the Tigers.

Good on him for having a crack and getting some playing time. Good on Norths for getting him in. I hope Lodge gets plenty of support and Norths attract some good crowds and sell a truckload of XXXX Gold. Norths need all the help they can get, so let's give them our support. There might be a...

Agreed - the Uni scrum really dominated. Impressive forward pack. Wests battled hard but were simply outgunned. The UQ backs looks good at times but I think combinations are still a work in progress. UQ Colts had a good day with all teams winning over the doggies. Long way to go though....

You can also add Jake Tierney, Lachie Phelley, Fin Hearn and more to that list potentially. UQ will be right in the top of the table mix.

Can think of a couple straight up... UQ - James Dalgeish (3 x Premiership winner and QPR player of the year twice I think) - went to Scotland (Watsonians) to get a professional gig but might be back here UQ - Brad Twidale - plays 10, 12,13. Premiership winner

Speaking of Lynagh...where is he? Has not played any QPR trials or been named on Reds bench. Thomas and Grealy played for UQ against Brothers to get some game time I suspect. Why not Lynagh? I would be thinking he would be itching to get some game time somewhere. Some discussions on the...

Good to hear that The Bankers are on the improve as you say. Important for our game, the competition, the health and well being of young men and the community.

Any news/updates out of "The Bank"? They really struggled in Colts last season (fielded only 2 teams and ultimately only 1 team that forfeited at the back end of the season) and the Grades similarly were not strong. A once proud and strong club appeared to be in trouble on many fronts. For...

My mail today is that "no community sports" means no team training in any reconfigured format. Interestingly, there has been no clarification on this from Queensland Health to date that I am aware of because I suspect no-one wants to ask the question.

".....stripping of points"? What was the crime?

While it would be great to extend the season etc, there are just too many unknowns to make plans etc. Then there are the many player issues highlighted in the forum here. There is no way our Dr Young will permit any form of club / school sport until there is a zero/donut case day again. Add...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2021

My mail is that the "issues" at Sunnybank run a lot deeper than the recruitment and retention of players. The cultural, management, financial and behavioural issues that are behind the demise have been happening for some time now. It is very sad for the local competition and those many great...
