    QLD Colts 2020

Heard there was an ugly ending to the Colts II prelim final between Easts and Brothers with a number of players running on to the field from the reserves bench to contribute to an all-in brawl. I trust that those players are all dealt with and the QRU impose heavy sanctions. Player safety is...

Can someone enlighten me on what the eligibility rules will be for the Colts finals. Will those Brothers lads who played Prems all season be eligible for Colts 1? In addition, there appears to be a number of 1st XV schoolboys playing in lower Colts grades in the past couple of weeks. Can they...

This mindless thuggery has to be stamped out immediately. As posted on this forum earlier, our wonderful game is under enough pressure and scrutiny to allow this crap to continue. ARU, QRU and Clubs need to send a message TODAY to each and every player, coach, manager and club committee that...

I can guarantee you that Queensland Police and Queensland Health officials are well aware of this event and will prevent this from happening on Saturday. BBC officials are on notice about their COVID plans which will be enforced to the letter. Failure to do so will result in significant fines...

Some very ugly incidents in UQ vs South 4th grade. One UQ player seriously injured in a shocking one punch attack. For the sake of the safety of our players, the reputation of clubs and the future of club rugby, I strongly recommend that the ARU, Club executives and coaches take these recent...

Getting tired of reading the BBC propaganda everyday .....can we please get some commentary on other games/teams around the grounds. For example: What's going on with BSHS? Heard that are now using this year's 1st XV as a training ground for their Under 16's in prep for next year and have now...

Is Xavier Stowers fit to play?? Looked to me he seriously inured his knee at TGS and was medi-cab'ed off the field.

TSS need to have a serious "rethink" how poorly they managed the COVID restrictions. It was a joke. The start of the 1st XV had to be delayed while a few school officials tried to chase away spectators who were obviously not parents. You only have to look at the game video to see the number...

Churchie had at least 4 regular 1st XV players on the sidelines and are still trialing players. Looking good for mine for a good season.

True, but the behaviours of some BSHS parental/family spectators has been appalling at some games and largely gone unattended/addressed by BSHS officials. Last year particularly was disgraceful. quote="Rugrat, post: 1146211, member: 6827"]Sadly not sure that State High has ever had to...

Yes - some good news on the rugby front. Not so sure about the "no limit of spectators for outdoor venues" prediction for schools rugby. I suspect all GPS schools need to agree on "new" protocols going forward with the next Level restrictions which will still control entry and exits, crowd...

I believe that was the initial thinking but for reasons of "duty of care" and some parental protests etc, a parent/guardian will be permitted to attend in case of injury etc etc. As you suggested, there will be some gap between fixtures to allow of the in/out of players, coaches/ parent etc.

Any updates on "crowd controls"? We are still hearing whispers of the 1 parent / spectator per player at this stage. There will also be controls on entry and exit to school grounds. Streaming seems to be the alternative viewing option where permitted. Any truth to the rumour that TSS were...

Interested to know how the 100 person limit is going to be managed/policed, particularly at large, wide-spread playing venues like our GPS schools. It will be a logistical headache in more ways than one! I have heard of the "1 parent" option but sounds ridiculous. The July 10 contact requirement...

Yes - it's all very intriguing. I'm backing rugby out this year unfortunately. Particularly with the spectre of ATAR looming in Term 3 for the first time, the delayed season start and impact to the ATAR period after the disruptions of Term 2, I believe will see many headmasters putting the...

The rumour mills are running hot.....latest being BCC 1st XV squad busted by police for training, TSS 1ST XV caught on camera training via a Police drone. Have to laugh at it all.

Speaking with a referee mate on the weekend. With club, GPS and potentially AIC (playing a Term 3 competition) all happening at the same time, the availability of qualified refs will be a huge issue to manage. Suspect there might be some "controversial" fixture results with home ground / team...

Sadly, I think 2020 Rugby will be a write-off. Very disappointing for all the boys, Rugby co-ordinators and coaches. One wonders what "alternative" options might be available.

Agreed that a few bad apples should not spoil the crop but unfortunately this sort of incident is not isolated at The Bank. There are some serious culture and behavioural issues that have to be addressed out there. No one likes playing there because of the behaviours of some spectators...
