    Reds v Sharks, Rnd 5 2020, Lang Park Sat 29 7:15 EDST

@Purce I think purely because this one will be a close run thin and REALLY we need this win to stay in touch with the Brumbies. I'd tend to go with Hegarty starting at 15 because of his goal kicking, for one of CFS or Campbell (would you pull Speight back maybe?). I'd probably pull back on...

I don't think Uelese has played any rugby in his career... I'd not have him in my squad until he gets some serious rugby into his body. Plus I think Anaru Rangi is a better more complete player anyway -- it's not like young hookers is a problem for us anyway.

Mafi and Tupou will play 90 minuets if they have to in order to get the win! This is the game to push for, the Crusaders the following week are a big ask. Go after the Sharks, if the Crusaders put you to the sword pull them early and get some rest into them then.

Yeah, Banks is looking scintillating! At this point, I feel like DHP and Hodge will probably be fighting for and over a wing/utility spot. On the Rebels, I was more impressed with Deegan at flyhalf than To'omua has in recent time. I think they are probably a distant third & fourth at best...

Wasn't actually suggesting Kibble for the game, just that he's another of the menagerie of Reds locks & backrowers!

Haha, ASY (Angus Scott-Young) much have slipped up there when I was debating who I start at 6 (ASY (Angus Scott-Young) or McReight), I think ultimately McReight is more likely to have more of an impact on the game, but maybe that's an argument for coming off the bench. I'm kinda hesitant to dump Campbell he's been playing bloody...

Am I the only one who thinks Stewart is still has potential to play flyhalf, he's looked very good in that first receiver role? Regardless I think we need to keep to the same side, maybe pull back on a few of the younger players this game. I think we need Feauai-Sautia's defensive ability, plus...

No pretty sure they were referring to Petaia.

Like I said, I think it'll never be truly Rennie's team, he was too closely tied to Cheika. I think the margin between Hooper and the alternative isn't so large to justify keeping the biggest reminder of Cheika's legacy. But I think it's almost impossible to fairly judge Hooper's performance...

    Wallabies 2020

I think the front row selection is pretty settled with some combination of the Reds and Brumbies front rows. I think that's fairly universally accepted. The second row is likely Rodda plus. Likely Hockings/Blyth/LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto). I can't see the Brumbies locks being up to it and young enough to justify...

I think most of us who are talking about CFS dropping out of the XV are looking forward few weeks at least, trying to work out our best long term team. Obviously anyone coming into the side is going to do it via the bench -- for the moment at least. If we had someone who was glaringly out of...

Yeah, I think Stewart has been really impressive at 12 and he's actually starting to look like what we hopped he would at 10, I'd not rule him out of another go at 10 if the opportunity presents itself, say if JOC (James O'Connor) get's head-knock or something and is out for the remainder of the game. I think...

I don't know the Reds 12/13 have been looking pretty good too! Honestly, anyone from the Reds or Brumbies XV should be in the frame for a Wallabies spot. I really rate Irae Simone although he has yet to really show his metal this season. And obviously TK is never a bad option at 13. But the...

    Reds v Sunwolves, Rnd 4 2020, Suncorp Stadium Feb 22 19:15

Yeah, I think we can't afford to not have CFS in the 23 somewhere, his versatility and the starch he'll bring to the backline is absolutely necessary. I think we'll want to keep Hegarty about the squad and probably give him some burn leading into finals (assuming we are in contention) because...

    Wallabies 2020

I wasn't meaning that we let White go, but the situation we've created by letting him back into the Wallabies, come back for the World Cup while he was a year (or two) away from actually coming back. Is he now eligible for the June Tests, or even the Rugby Champs, while still playing in Europe...

I think the front row gap isn't AS bad as it could be. It is more that our reserve front row isn't as spectacular as our starting front row.

We have an absolute glut of locks and backrowers, I would have liked to have seen Wright, Willson and McReight, either pushing LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) up into the row or...

    Wallabies 2020

Okay, that is interesting. I still think we ought not continue to cast aside the likes of Powell, McDermott and Gordon unless we want them to walk. We need to start rewarding players who stay and put in that work for Australian Rugby rather than being seduced by the allure of players who have...

    Wallabies 2020

Pretty sure he was in Japan for a few month, not sure how that wouldn't have been living there. That'd remove any residence argument, given he's born in South Africa I don't see too much scope World Rugby have to say he's an Aussie. But regardless, we ought to be looking at Powell, Gordon and...

I think ASY (Angus Scott-Young) has proven he's a quality Super Rugby player, he'd find a spot in a number of other squads if not starting coming off the bench. He's a nice player he hasn't continued improving as we'd have probably liked, but regardless, at minimum he's a good player to have in the squad.
