Hamish Stewart: Look at me! Look at me, I am the flyhalf now.

    Reds v Sunwolves, Rnd 4 2020, Suncorp Stadium Feb 22 19:15

Berry is probably one of the best Aussie Refs, he made a deliberate decision to not give out a Red Card when he could have instead given a yellow. Yes, the Brumbies would likely have won had he given out a red, but Berry made the deliberate decision to give a yellow instead and keep the game...

    Wallabies 2020

I don't know that To'omua is actually too likely to find himself in the XV let alone the 23. Sure he's a good player, but Rennie has sounded as if he'll be picking on Super Rugby form and if the Rebels persist with To'omua at 10, I don't know how much form he will find. To'omua is actually one of...

I actually think Stewart has looked good in first receiver for the Reds. I think Harrison has shown he's not ready, I'd still be hopeful to see Lolesio show he's capable. Plus Lucas is also an option. What about Quade, he's eligible. LOL

    Wallabies 2020

Yeah, I'd say judging on current Super Rugby form O'Connor is probably the front runner for the flyhalf spot. He looked a little shaky against the Lions but settled into it well, and against the Jags he was one of the best on ground. Obviously To'omua is in the running, but I don't think he'll...

    Wallabies 2020

Yeah, I don't see To'omua being a genuine 10 option, he's brilliant if you need injury cover in a match or something, but it's becoming more and more obvious that he's not a flyhalf. I'd say we'd fare more likely to see 9 Powell/McDermott/Gordon, 10 JO'C, 12 To'omua, but I'm skeptical To'omua...

I think it's a bit early to be '13 certifying' Ikitau, he's below Paisami on the depth chart.

I think we're jumping the gun a bit on 13. Don't forget O'Connor is the 'incumbent' 13. We also have Karmichael who is never a bad option. Paisami has looked very good in his limited opportunities. And Hodge is always a thing; he apparently plays 13 now too.

To be fair that Reds scum isn't the easiest to hold onto the back of. That thing goes like the clappers (so far as scrums go).

    Reds 2020

Isn't our gameplan just knock the ball on, win the scrum penalty (against the feed), kick down field, and if the other team have the ball put on big hit's till they knock it on, oh and also try for pilfers. /s

    Reds v Sunwolves, Rnd 4 2020, Suncorp Stadium Feb 22 19:15

Yeah, good question. I think he kinda has to start at 10 just because of how the backline has fallen around him. Hamish looked impressive at 12, and Hunter looked amazing* at 13 (* amazing when you consider the whole context). MAYBE we start Lucas at 15 with Campbell back to the wing, but even...

    Reds 2020

I think regardless of Thorns efficacy at producing wins they'd see him through to 2021. Thorn has shown he's effective at player development and preparing guys for Test Rugby. If we don't get wins before Thron's contract is up we will likely bring in someone established, likely with a winning...

Having just seen the marketing for this game on Facebook and Instagram, O'Connor is the face of it... there is no way he isn't starting.

I think because O'Connor is playing so well we have no choice but to start him likely at 10, but maybe Lucas at 15 then pull the plug on O'Connor after the first half assuming we have the lead we ought to.

    Wonderful, I guess I'm checking 119 data points! -_-

    Hometown Refs

Yeah, I pulled the data (by hand) from the SANZAR website. It's obviously the 2018 results, so there is plenty of scope for incorrect data to have been typed in by me. I'm planning / hoping to do a whole lot more analysis beyond just the SA vs the World stuff.

    Hometown Refs

Okay, this is quite odd, I'm actually working on a similar thing, but my data is showing there is very little difference between any of the refs. I am more than happy to accept my spreadsheet skills are abhorrent, but it's odd we'd arrive at quite dramatically different conclusions. Here is my...

    Reds 2020

Positives to take from the first three games.
Our backline is finally looking sorted. • O'Connor is a genuine flyhalf option.
 • CFS as always, is a very handy utility back. • Paisami is looking like the real deal, we could soon be saying 'Jordan Who?' • Stewart has...

Super Rugby Rnd 3: Jaguares v Reds - Buenos Aires Sunday Feb 16 10:00am AEDT

I do actually agree the lineout - maul has gotten too powerful, I think if the referees were perfect this might not be the case, but the fact is they aren't and in fact the refs are awful especially at scum and maul time. I'm not sure how you reduce the power of the maul without completely...

What the fuck was with them being allowed to tackle when he was standing in at halfback?
