While I'd be happy with either of those as options for an in game injury or something. But I do think you really want a more 'full time' flyhalf in the squad. Ultimately, I think you take Stewart or Mason in the squad, but not the 23 because they are the only real flyhaves. Hodge and Beale are...

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

The players we can say are outright better than their counter parts from last week: JP Smith BPA Too Close Rodda Simmons ASY (Angus Scott-Young) likely too close (consider will likely be Timu/Higgers) Hooper (but genuinely close) Higgers (or Timu) Phipps Foley Naiyaravoro Beale Kerevi Perese Folau So the Reds...

    Reds v Highlanders

Not commenting on the other things but according to the financial report last year or something apparently, like 40% of Australian Super Rugby players are some way directly associated with the QRU. Moreover just look at the U20's sides and how many Queenslanders are in those sides. Maybe we are...

Maybe I'm thinking of Fa'agase. But one of the Reds front row last year pre-slipper injury was on one side then swapped to the other side after the Slipper injury. Maybe it's just because we have AAA, Kepu, and Tupou all playing at THP and yet Tom Robinson is our second best LHP, it's like...

Is Sam Talakai playing LHP for the Rebels (I'm pretty sure he plays both)? He was very good for the Reds last season when Slipper went down. Like I really like Robinson, I want him to be awesome, and think he could be. I just think he's a little bit shit and his scrummaging has been average at...

    Reds 2018

Interesting to see they might be starting to position Rodda as a leader of the team. I think it'll be a good thing Rodda looks like he's going to develop into a really good leader, he's been incredibly consistent and always fronts up with his best effort even when he's having a tough day.

Are you serious, I really like the kid, and while I haven't really paid much attention to him in recent games but I do find it hard to believe he's actually improved enough to be a genuine consideration for a place in the 23.

    Reds 2018

I don't know he's given his heart and soul to this team, I would like to see the club resign him, ultimately he was at least in the conversion for a Wallabies Jersey, some even had him starting. There is unlikely to be any physical reason why he can't get back to that level. I hope he goes away...

That will actually really help his game, that's exactly what he's missing at the moment is that running game and game management.

    Reds 2018

Okay, maybe we need a separate topic for this one, we've had like 2 pages of arguing about nothing on this. And while the debate between Slipper and Hunt's positions is Intersting it's largely irrelevant to the Reds for the next 2 months at least. But for the record, Karmichael has a long...

I do think Lucas is probably the best fit with Lance. But you are right, Lucas has been average at best.

Hahahahaha, we call this classic Reds!

    Reds v Highlanders

So do we think the Reds have a genuine chance of winning this?

If that's your logic why not start Tupou who's actually been in really good form -- Latu hasn't been starting for the Waratahs last I looked.

    Tell that to Quade.

    Reds 2018

So how about that team list? Throwing Harry Hockings into the starting job! Persisting with Lucas at 9, remember when I was the only one saying he's going to play 9 or not at all? I didn't imagine him starting!

Not actually a proponent of his selection, but Douglass has been very good this season too! How did we go from zero stock at lock to an actual glut at lock -- Maybe Arnold is the odd many out given he's got a few weeks off.

I'd never advocate for Genia because he's probably the first guy on the team sheet. Simmons god no, I'd rather see us go back to Hanigan playing the full 80 than us starting Simmons! (maybe if we have a few injuries.) Also I just advocated for Tui to be left out of the side, isn't that the...

    The Wallabies Thread

I have said a few times that Hanging is much better this season. Naiyaravoro has been killing it. Maddocks has been good. @Braveheart Beale I'd want a look at as a 10 but could be good. Hodge is no 10 IMO, they are playing him at 10 this weekend and we will see if I'm wrong on this, but...

You'd maybe see ASY (Angus Scott-Young), Wright in instead of Cottrell, Higgers is an alternative too and could potentially bring some more balance to the back row. Also surely you'd have to take Hamish Stewart in the 33 man squad, the only other viable fly half in Australian Super Rugby? (I'd maybe drop Rona out...
