    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

https://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/SuperRugby/australia-say-no-to-nz-demands-for-samu-release-20180602 Australia and New Zealand have failed to agree to terms on a deal to allow Pete Samu to play. Who's up Higgers, ASY (Angus Scott-Young), Miller, Wells? Any any of the Brumbies options not injured at the moment...

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

Don't disagree at all, frankly I would have gone with Stewart for at least 20 min off the bench, as well as shifting one of our wingers to fullback for 20 min or so. But someone who would know indicated this was planned, but I have little context surrounding this.

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

I did hear some rumblings that this was always 'the plan', not sure if this exact game or more generally play him at fullback for a bit and then move him to 10, unless forced by injury. Also Kerevi might just ensure he's the starting Wallabies 12 by destroying Beale!

Can't be worse than the TMO system at present.

I mean just like Tui being a back rower because he has played there once...

No comment on the Sorovi, Stewart, Paia'aua axis?! I really like this backline, bar Ngamanu on the bench basically our ideal side!

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

The two young Queensland Back rowers -- Angus Scott Young (having keep Timu out of the starting jersey this week) and Liam Wright (taken on EoYT last year) are showing a lot of potential, and Harry Hockings could do nicely as a makeshift Lock6. There are also a few of guys for the 'Tahs and...

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

My problem with it isn't that he's necessarily unproven it's that we'd be selecting him over someone who is playing Super Rugby for us now. If your one of those guys who were on the cusp of Wallabies selection, I think you'd quite fairly feel aggrieved by his selection.

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

I'm pretty sure they'd play with a broken leg if we'd let them. But the Brumbies have a few options who could step up. Also I think Angus Scott-Young could step up if needed, he's playing a really nice general back rowers game at the moment as well as being a very serviceable line-out option.

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

I like Tui, he could litterally be the solution to all our back row problems! I would much rather have someone who has played some rugby. (I can believe I'm saying this!) I'd almost prefer to see Simmons on the bench, at least along side Tui to help share that load. The joy of starting Rodda...

    Wallabies squad for Ireland series

Yeah this was exactly my conclusion when I saw the back row he'd announced. They've gotta be playing Pooermu... But they Cheika might play Simmons at 6 #DeanMumm2.0 But who is our back row option on the bench (assuming we don't have Samu given it's yet unconfirmed).

    The Wallabies Thread

Anyone else appalled with Cheika / the ARU for potentially selecting Samu at the expense of someone currently playing for an Aussie Super team? I would be more understanding if they didn't have someone to fill that role, but back row is probably our strongest position. It just smacks of...

Not calling for it, but with all the injuries and what not I wouldn't be surprised to see Douglas in the conversation for a locking position. (Also that Arnold you have listed -- Richie or Rory?) Also not sure about Latu (or Ready), over the other guys regularly playing Super. Edit: What about...

Well I'm pretty sure Simmons is in the side because he's been in that ASIC ad and a few others. I still can't get my head around Cheika saying 'Hooper is my captain for the next world cup' last year, it looks to me like it's a bit of Rafferty's rules with all that squad announcement stuff.

Mate judging by last years from I'd rather have you coming off the bench than Hanigan, although he's looked at lot more effective at Super Rugby this year.

    Round 16 - Reds vs Waratahs - Saturday 2 June - 7:45pm @ Suncorp

I actually think Hockings has a decent chance of keeping his starting spot, he played pretty well and the scrum almost looked better (?) with him in there. He's a bit more mobile than Rodda and Douglas and that's probably what keeps him in the side if we bring Timu back with Smith and Higgers...

I do feel like it is. It would be like England Picking Brad Shields, it just 'feels' wrong... Oh wait. But seriously, Quade was an Australian School Boy, Hawera was playing for Waikato, and Southland before 2017, do you not see that as being a point of difference? Contrast this with a guy like...

How else do you expect him to not look like Matt Dunning?

I haven't seen Lealifano actually playing at test level (as a 10 at least) yet this season. Also, Quade played in Queensland in high school and so actually has a connection with Australia. Hawera as far as I'm aware (I could be wrong) was brought over as an adult.
