I’d rather see Hunt in for Speight.

I thought so to. I was surprised to see how few people had him in their top 3. A good game from him is vital to our chances against the ABs.

Australia v Argentina 7 Oct 2017 in Mendoza

He had a good game. Let’s see it replicated against the ABs and higher ranked sides before we annoint Dempsey as the solution to our blindside problems. I liked what I saw against the argies but his cameos from the bench against better opposition were not nearly as impressive.

I’m guessing no.4 will be the only change to the starting lineup.

Glad you live south of the border Derpus. You have a way with words. :)

He and Hunt need to duke it off for the 12 position. He’s got the inside running at the moment. I don’t see either playing any other position except bench utility. Although I would like to see Hunt come off the bench at 12 with Beale moving in to 10 and foley having a rest in the last 15 against...

Australia v Argentina 7 Oct 2017 in Mendoza

I think Folau’s lack of a kick return is exposed by NZ and Eng. Both teams have a pinpoint kicking game and great pressure on the chase. I’ve been keen on Hodge at 15 for a while. Most of his breaks today were in a roving role anyway which he can still do from FB. I just think hodge and Folau...

Interesting to see Beale has spilled most of the high balls he’s fielded this series. If Folau was to move to wing I think hodge is the best option at FB. His boot would be useful back there as well against the ABs. I think that’s a tweak that has some merit.

And there lies the conundrum that is Bernard Foley!!

Fair call on Dempsey Thought McMahon is not making his usual meters - carrying but being stopped in his tracks a bit.

Coleman is our standout forward by quite a margin. Followed by TAF. Rest are a bit meh today..

Its complicated BR. There's a lot of friendly banter between medical and surgical specialists. Physicians joke surgeons have a "when in doubt cut it out" mentality and don't maintain a lot of their medical knowledge outside their area of expertise Surgeons joke that physicians order a bunch of...

Maybe we could petition the IRB to bring in size restrictions for backrowers at an international level rather than just in juniors. That way we wouldn't get smashed in contact and in the line outs.

Australia v Argentina 7 Oct 2017 in Mendoza

It's one part of the 8s role. There are other areas that playing x2 7s leaves us exposed. Aggression and impact at the breakdown come to mind. In a top ranked side pocock, hooper and McMahon are all competing for the 7 spot. It's only because of our lack of real options at 6 and 8 that we...

Australia v Argentina 7 Oct 2017 in Mendoza

Ah.. ok. it's all clear now - Thoughtful and well considered response as I have come to expect. Foleys attack has been excellent. His defense and kicking in general play have been suspect as usual. McMahon has played well but in a x2 7s because we don't have a decent 8 role. I stand by my...

Nah. Couldn't care less who plays 4 - there's so little point of difference that it boils down to who pulls off a smokey and rises above the usual quagmire of mediocrity, only to fall back to the same baseline next game prior to being rotated out again. Likewise reserve hooker isn't worth losing...
