Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

The refereeing was not great but it always seems worse after a close fought loss. The obstruction / try ruling was really the only one to me that stood out as a game changer. Many of the others were 50/50 calls and while I agree we were not getting the rub of the green they weren't absolute...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

Unfortunately that was a predictable result with the team selected. We got owned in tight and in contact and timani was sorely missed. (As was Coleman but at least his absence was forced) The backs squandered a number of try scoring opportunities and we could have still got away with that one...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

The pooper is a liability against sides with a strong line out. It also means we lose the impact and go forward of a traditional 8 and have to pick a 6 based on lineout skill rather than impact in general play. The back row balance of this side is all wrong again. Unfortunately there is a high...

Yeah that ankle will be vital for the last 3-5mins of the next two tests :)

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

Correct But that doesn't mean everyone on this forum agrees. It's not a prediction of the starting lineup - it's the armchair experts voicing their own preferred lineups. The pooper was found wanting against NZ and England and suddenly after a few narrow wins against the 7th and 9th ranked teams...

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

That would be my lineup as well. Except I'd be tempted to swap DHP and Folau just for shits and giggles. And rest folau early for naiyarovoro if we have a healthy lead.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Neither player would make any position other than 7 in a world 15 or in the All Blacks side (or probably Eng for that matter) Both certainly would not feature in the same side. There is no argument that they are not both outstanding players. It's whether we should be playing two 7s at the...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

I don't think anyone would say foley played badly in the last 3 games. But you can't say he's the best 10 for the job without seeing the alternative, and the alternative has had almost no game time. I still have concerns about foley against a strong rush defense and when we are under defensive...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Really? Two players on the bench not even getting a run. In a game that we won by one point against the no 7 ranked side in the world. Of course it warrants discussion. Not to the exclusion of other facets of the game but its worth asking some serious questions about the bench composition before...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Did they? Or did we just play much worse. I actually think it was a combination of both.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Other than the recent game against Wales, when was the last time we comprehensively beat anyone? Even against the lower ranked sides our game usually lowers to the standard of the opposition. Haven't seen us put a side to the sword in a long time. It's why ones heart is always in ones mouth as a...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

It was a terrific game. But against the number 7 ranked team in the world. And there was nothing between the two sides. It's still one step forwards 2 steps back. Pleased to get the win but lots of improvement needed

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

We were very lucky to get away with that one. I'll take it but I do feel for Scotland. There were games this year against England we deserved to win more than that one. My biggest fear coming into this game was that we would have another comfortable win and Cheika would think he had the magic...

My bad. Forgot the 6/2 bench Carry on..

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Yeah I agree that's the more likely scenario I just don't think it's going to achieve the desired outcome. And it will force other changes as well to cover the lineout. Also one injury to a jumper anywhere in the game leaves us very exposed.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

If we're only expecting Skelton to play 10mins is it really worth the risk of a 6/2 bench? If no one's really putting their hand up for a second lock bench spot then just play Coleman or Arnold for another 10. Last week showed they were capable of it. A 10 min cameo is a waste of a bench spot...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Don't get me wrong I hope he has a blinder and I'll be happy to be mistaken. But I don't think size alone is a reason to have him in the side. He has had a tendency to flop from ruck to ruck this year. And Micheal feel free to be patronising if it makes you feel better about yourself...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Fardy for starters. Hell, I'd even have Douglas over him. Skelton has done absolutely nothing all season to justify his selection, and in fact has looked decidedly pedestrian. Who knows, maybe he's training the house down. But his performances on the park this year don't justify his inclusion.

Nah it was a genuine shocker. Great player -I rate him highly and think he has a big future. But it was a shocker. I'd still like to see him at 15. Kerevi's the future at 12 imo.
