    Australia v Italy, Suncorp Stadium, 24th June 2017 @ 3:00pm

I think you're right about Folau to wing. His lack of a kicking option gives too much predictability. I'd like to see hodge at 15. His boot would be useful, he's safe under the high ball, and he played a lot of his early rugby there. Put Folau on one wing with some gas on the other. Kerevi or...

Anyone else think that likes are an oxymoron on an unpopular opinion thread....?

I don't think this side is any better or worse than the one that ran on against Scotland. Just different. If foley makes his kicks and genia doesn't have another shocker we'll be fine. Wouldn't be my lineup but it'll do.

    Unpopular opinion thread

The wallabies are not soft, lacking aggression, show ponies or poorly coached. Being photographed working out in the gym or having a beer after a game is not the issue. Supporters are a fickle bunch and need to give themselves an uppercut. The wallabies are the number 4 ranked team in the world...

    The Wallabies Thread

90% of the time that's correct, particularly in open play. Exiting a ruck or maul is a different beast - there is a higher risk of getting isolated as multiple support players are trapped. It's why the concept of pods developed. In this circumstance it is a bit rough to blame the support...

    The Wallabies Thread

Obviously not a forward cyclo. I'm not bashing hooper - he had a good game and was one of the best forwards on the park. But you don't take off from a maul on your own when everyone has their heads down expecting the ball to go to the backs. You're asking to get isolated. It's lesson 101 of...

They would also have grabbed a teammate or communicated what they were about to do rather than bolt like a startled horse and take the entire team by surprise. They're good but they're not mind readers. Hooper was as much to blame as the support players.

I agree 9 is also a major problem Unfortunately we have little depth in either position. There's been lots of discussion about changes to the forward pack despite winning the possession and territory, and securing enough clean ball to win the game. Genia looked off, and both his and foleys...

Australia v Scotland, 3:00pm 17 June Sydney Football Stadium

3 tries should have been enough to beat a Scottish team that offered very little in attack. I'd take a decent kicker over another 2 inches every day of the week. 2 more kicks between the sticks and a few less chargedowns and that was a comfortable win, albeit with some fine tuning still...

It was hodge for mine. For the same reasons you said.

Try of the match? Really? It was a defensive stuff up with hodge and DHP getting tangled up. Haven't seen the stats but there were few line breaks and I never felt worried they were going over even with repeated phases of possession. It was their superb defence that won them that game not their...

Because we don't prioritise kicking and we try to make a kicker out of a player rather than a player out of a kicker.

Not sure why the outrage. Close game as expected when the 3rd placed team on the decline plays the 5th place team on the rise. I enjoyed the game. Other than the final penalty there was little controversy and no soft yellow cards. I think we looked more threatening in general play and more...

The predictability was what I was referring to. It was prophetic but in a "I predict the sun will rise in the east and set in the west tomorrow" kinda way.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

L Cull all 5 franchises. Enter one team in the competition - let's call them the wallabies. They should be competitive against most sides except the top couple. Hell, they might even make the finals.

    Refereeing decisions

I noticed Paul Williams did not get a gig this week in any capacity. Anyone know if that was pre planned or a response to his shocker the week before? It would be nice to think there was some accountability, even if it's not publicised.

Mate the refs call was correct according to the current interpretations. Not questioning it at all. But was it really dangerous? Does that sort of tackle really warrant an automatic card. Was it serious enough to completely change the momentum and potentially the outcome of a game. Has the game...
