Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

Well at least the first 5 minutes was a contest.

^^ Nah it's culturally insensitive to do anything but stand back and look intimidated. Besides our back row would need footstools to look 'em in the eye.

Nudgee 17 BBC 15. Nudgee out scored 3 tries to 2 and a little lucky to get away with that one. Poor kicking again from BBC hurt them

    QLD GPS Rugby 2017

BBC up 10-7 at half time. 70% possession and 60% territory. Looking strong but howling breeze in their favour. Hosea the dominant player on the park by a long way. 2nd half will be a cracker. Not sure BBC took enough advantage of the breeze and their possession.

    The Wallabies Thread

The problem is there's so little point of difference between our options at 6-8 that there's not really a clear solution. But our backs all bring different skills to the table. For some years we won with a forward pack that at most had parity and was probably actually slightly below the standard...

Great to see him back. But a bone marrow transplant is a huge insult to the body. I would be gobsmacked to see him playing at a high level before next year.

The other thing that was very apparent in the AB vs BIL match was every kick was contested. For both teams. On multiple occasions the kicking team regathered the ball. Yet the kicks were generally longer. I'm not sure whether that represents better kick placement, better skill and commitment...

    The Wallabies Thread

I'm sure you're right. But I think makes a lot of sense to play hodge at 15 and have mentioned it a number of times since last years internationals. Remember it was getting pinned in our 22 till we gave away points that lost us the series against England. (Usually a penalty goal was our exit...

I know it wasn't a success when tried previously but he has a lot of history in this position and foley hasn't made it his own. Realistically it's too late now but 10 is a big issue and I can't see any other option except QC (Quade Cooper). The AB v BIL game showed how important a good kicker is. I think I saw...

    Australia v Italy, Suncorp Stadium, 24th June 2017 @ 3:00pm

He was ranked top 3 on every tah posters 3,2,1. No 1 on most. But he didn't feature in any of the non tah posters top 3. It's just provincial bias. (Both ways) I agree 10 is a real problem. Much more than the quibble over back rower spots when there's so little point of difference in this area...

It's this type of comment that almost has me supporting the lions. If only there were less Englishmen in their side.

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Every kick is contested Every clearing kick in the 22 is reaching close to the half way line. Both teams. We are so far behind in that part of out game - it needs to become a priority. A pleasure to watch.

The kicking in Abs lions game is spectacular. Shows just how far behind we are in that facet of the game.

Genia showing last week was an aberration Hunt, Folau, and Naivalu having strong games. Still not sold on 10,13 and 14. Scrum solid. Forwards same same but different.

There's no thread for it but the Sco v Fiji game is a cracker. Gives some perspective on our relative performances against both sides..
