Honestly, I've been saying it for a while I'm not entirely sure we should be selecting both Pocock and Hooper, ultimately I think you pick Pocock over Hooper, but that's really not important to this point what's important is that we really can't keep picking both too many of the same weakness...

Yeah, I think he's back soon. I think he would need to spend a lot of time at 6 to be Wallabies 6 ready but given how the Reds back row is going at the moment I don't think he's likely to get any time at 6. He could be an option but is not likely to be ready this season.

He doesn't, he fixes their poor line-bending ball running. Timu, Rodda and Coleman are the only line-out jumpers we are likely to have starting, Rodda and Coleman are very good jumpers and Timu is under used at the Reds but capable (mostly from watching his NRC form where he was used more).

Yeah, but that's the thing, as far as anyone can tell it's perry much a threeway tie for scrummaging, maybe Tupou is unproven at least at test level. But if we assume they are all very close we've got to consider the other factors. But regardless the idea of picking a player only because of...

    Hurricanes v Reds

Not saying anyone is right or wrong, it's very clear we don't have many referees here lol. But the problem with this logic is a player could juggle the ball and never be tackled, not desimilar to when we had the 'player tackled in the air' when they were jumping to catch a pass thet went high...

Didn't he play LHP a while ago? Also re Tupou, he could actually be our best scrummaging THP, what he gives you around the park is just a bonus. But he's like an extra no8.

Honestly, it's pretty clear, the Waratahs beat a team who only had 14 men for all but 20 minuets of the game. Not saying it wasn't justified, it was. But that doesn't change the fact that they only had 14 men. In the modern game it's almost impossible for a team to win with a red card in the...

Also after showing his incredible endurance and being rock solid against the very impressive Hurricanes scrum, Tuopu really should be starting!

    Hurricanes v Reds

My issue is more it's almost never called in New Zealand. Yes it's a shit rule, but it's still a rule. Yet we have rules like straight scrum feeds that are ignored that are actually good rules.

Dude he's 19 years old and is capable of hanging with a number of the world class locks; just get him on the Rodda / Tupou diet and he'll be 120+ in no time!

    Hurricanes v Reds

I agree 100% that this is now how the laws should be, but it is how they are. By the laws (as we have seen week in week out) that should be a yellow card, and is everywhere except New Zealand for some reason. The only thing worse than making a shitty decision (like a YC would have been) is being...

I don't know why you are talking about Hockings, and while I REALLY rate the kid, he's a good year away from test rugby minimum. He could eventually become a nice 6 option particularly given the Reds have Rodda filling the role he'd likely fill. But he's just not ready yet. I think if Timu can...

    Hurricanes v Reds

Firstly, he's not 'being tackled', at best it's incidental contact that really had little impact. I'm not actually sure Daugunu actually held him even. But regardless of what's happened there have been too many instances of players going to make tackles who have 'knocked the ball down' that it's...

    Hurricanes v Reds

While I do think had we had a neutral ref (and more competent referee) we have more of a chance of winning that one. I do think all in all the Hurricanes were the better team on the day. That knockdown in every other game is a yellow card, far too many forward passes, knock-ons etc just ignored...

    Hurricanes v Reds

Mate I wasn't sure if that was 40 year old George or 20 year old George! He turned back the hands of time with that one! I think our biggest issue is in our halves Sorovi has to my mind taken the starting Jersey from Lucas. Not sure why Stewart was pulled but on accrual of Lance and Stewart's...

    Hurricanes v Reds

I don't see any logic in pulling Stewart -- we have no other fly half for next year. Pull Lance and move Stewart into 10. We know he's not a 15 so don't fucking play him there. Literally the only thing Thorn hasn't tried is Lance at 15... the thing he should be doing.

How was he offside when he's come through the middle of the ruck?!

You can't tell me you wouldn't have had at least Quade Cooper in the Squad last year. Who's the better option we had at fly half, Reece Hodge...
