    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

    I think the forward pack for next weekend should be: 1. Alexander 2. Moore 3. Kepu 4. Simmons 5. Horwill 6. Elsom 7. Pocock 8. McCalman 16. Fainga'a- < 5-10 minutes left 17. Cowan < 20 minutes left 18. Sharpe < 15-20 minutes left 19. Higginbotham/Hodgson < 10 minutes left 20. Samo < 25 minutes...

The Scariest War Dances - Pre Match Rituals

I know it doesn't generate the spark that the Haka does, but I really like Waltzing Matilda. I think it was great during the Bledisloe last year with John Williamson leading it.

The Scariest War Dances - Pre Match Rituals

My favourites involve Tana Umaga. What a warrior. It's the rings under his eyes that do it for me, terrifying. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRiOmg3ZhJU&NR=1 It might just be me, but the ones who get the most into it are the ones with Maori blood- Tana, Weepu, Mealamu just seem slightly more...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

Chambers didn't play for the Filth, missed training and was dropped. An impressive effort from Brothers for defeating such a star-studded Uni side.

    Argentina

I think not playing any warm-up Tests will be extremely detrimental to 'Los Pumas' RWC Semi-Final aspirations. They aren't performing like they were in '07, so I think they might bow at at the Quarter-Finals stage.

    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

I hate the notion of picking 'impact' subs based on their supposed 'impact player' skills, but Samo is really suited to this role. His fitness isn't quite as good as McCalman's, and he is prone to periods of laziness throughout games. Bringing him on for the last 25 minutes of a match would pack...

    PdV Lying Like a Bugger?

I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see SANZAR sanction SA Rugby. Doesn't this violate the Tri-Nations selection criterion contract?

    23rd August (I think).

    Wallabies Player Ratings

A few points to be made: -I think you're being a little generous in your ratings. We won, yes, but against a B-strength Springbok XV with a lot of flashy play from QC (Quade Cooper)/JO'C. -McCalman isn't really a rock at Number Eight. Sure, he tries hard, but doesn't pack a lot of punch. Not physical enough...

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

Alexander is a seagull and is the weak link in our tight five. He's constantly parked out in the backline and without Slipper/Robinson we can't afford a player like that. His scrummaging is also below-par, and against England and New Zealand he will be targeted.

    Berrick Barnes

I really like Berrick, but there's no spot for him in our 22. 9. Genia 10. Cooper 11. Ioane 12. McCabe 13. Ashley-Cooper 14. O'Connor 15. Beale This backline doesn't even factor in Horne and Mitchell. When Mitchell returns, I think Deans will either move O'Connor to inside or just keep him on...

GAGR Wallaby Player of the Match v SAF

    3. Pat McCabe (Hit holes, distributed ball, made tackles, supported ball runners, chased kicks, pilfered, rucked- very good effort) 2. Will Genia 1. Rob Simmons

Higginbotham on the wing, is Deans stoking the fire?

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Anthony Fainga'a at outside centre, interesting. Who's captain now that Pocock and Elsom are both off?

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

McCabe is the ideal Wallabies' inside centre. He's more than competent in defence, straightens up the attack, he's quick off the mark and he can secure the ball. Australia needs centres that can secure breakdown ball due to the wide-spreading gameplan, and the fact that he's made 2 turnover...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2011

Nudgee College def. Brisbane Grammar 41-20. Billy Brittain (#10) and the #13 clashed heads in the first minute and missed a fair bit of the game The 2nd XV drew 17-all, very good game from BGS.

    Pat McCabe

I think Horne will play #12 when he comes back. He and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) would make a great 12/13 combo: Can straighten up the back-line, make tackles, penetrate defences etc.

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

A win against SA means that the Wallabies move back to #2 on the IRB Rankings. I was feeling pretty demoralised after the Samoa upset, but I'm slowly regaining confidence. Genia seemed to rally the forwards pretty effectively when he came on and Beale transformed the attack immediately- looked...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2011

Was speaking to GPS Coach Anthony Matheson yesterday and he said that UQ are forfeiting this weekend's match, not sure who they were scheduled to play. Will it be rescheduled or will the other side just take the points?
