Key word being contestable. Thought they’d use the bench earlier but wasn’t the case as they were always on the back foot from a strong, hungry reds team. Just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.
Bar Porecki, Jorgensen, Perese and maybe Hanigan I think that’s close to the tahs full starting squad. Don’t mean to underrate the reds, they looked strong tonight, bit I think the tahs should’ve had a stronger showing.
On paper Waratahs had the team to be able to breeze through to a contestable win. However, it seems the team absolutely fears contact, both in ruck and in open play. Every attack looked pre planned from training, with no ability to look up and adjust tactics based on what’s in front of them...
Will need to be a big shift from Wilson. While I think he’s gonna be a proper beast in a couple years, if he can clean up his ruck work and focus his unrivalled enthusiasm this weekend, that will put him in better stead for more game time later this year.
LANGGGIIIIII, having played with him since u10’s, honestly couldn’t of happened to a more humble and kind person. Guarantee he will grow more impressive from this experience!
I think he works in combination with Kerevi better then any other centre atm. Though I think you could switch Paisami and Kelleway on that team list and it'd function pretty similar.
Been doing a bit of thinking about a general wallabies team this year:
1. Bell (Massive work around the park and massive engine, has improved his set piece work this year)
2. Porecki (Great set piece as well as strong defense, good synergy with bell)
3. Tupou (Strong set piece + running lines)...
100%, MK’s work rate is insane for a winger. His ability to move across the park and make impact on attack/defence/counter ruck/set piece Is second to none in his position atm.
