38-24 to Barker. Trial played in 3 x 20min thirds with lots of continuous changes, but Barker the overall better drilled side. Joeys with some work to do.
not quite - 10 in the 1sts, 4 in the 2nds and one (from Joeys 2nds0 in the 3rds. The one to miss out was a reserve.
There were 7 Aus Schoolboys and 12 NSW Schoolboys in that side.
with Kings now (almost) a lay-down misere for the chocolates, interest turns to the race for the Silver Medal in the 1sts comp.
Joeys will back themselves to win all 4 remaining games (vE(h), vN(a), vI(h), vK(a)) and will be hoping Riverview drop 2 games (vK and vJ the likely contenders) and...
well done TG - the history of the choice of Cerise & Blue has always had a bit of doubt about it, with many theories being offered, most related to horse-racing colours. In 1981, Br Michael Naughtin wrote his impressive history of Joeys called "A Century of Striving", and on p134 it said:
on...
for those interested, the U20 Aus v NZ game on the weekend, the replay is here
[no sound and no score posted]

surprised to see Barrett in there - my understanding is that the U19 squad was meant to give kids who were too old for the U18s a chance to impress ahead of selection of next year's U20s. World Rugby doesn't have an U19 tournament any more since it was merged with the old U21 to form the U20s a...
Joeys 1sts played Marist Canberra (and won 83-15) and Joeys 2nds played Marist Ashgrove 1sts and drew 12-12. I don't know which Barker team struggled against Ashgrove just recently, but I suspect Barker might really struggle against Nudgee on Saturday.
perhaps you need to rephrase: "Barker beat a Joeys side with no hooker, no 10, no lineout and a team riddled with flu in a preseason trial". This same Barker side was smoked by Scots who were then smoked by Joeys. That's where the smoke is "brother".
highly unlikely
you might want to consider how a Joeys-heavy GPS 1sts thrashed a Barker-heavy CAS 1sts by 43-14, with Joeys players scoring 5 of the 7 tries and 33 of the 43 points.
one thing people forget about that Barker v Joeys trial was that Joeys were trialling a 2ndXV LH prop throwing into lineouts, which meant Joeys couldn't win a lineout to save their lives, including 2 on the 5 metre line that ordinarily would result in meat pies.
There's not much doubt that, with...
as a Yr12 boy I would have thought you would know that there is no such thing as a "Ladder" that includes trials.
and how do you square this (your) statement - "View had the two Australian schoolboys in our team out" - with being a Joeys Yr12 boy?
:eek::rolleyes:
if you want to get pedantic, you'd have to say that Joeys won the 2021 Premiership because after the one and only round, they had the equal most competition points and the best For and Against.
