Well I certainly hope they (nz) bring their best team, for 2 reasons 1; so we can confirm how much of a gap their is, if there is?, 2; if we do beat them, we don't want any excuses! IMO

Wiseguy Faiane is the younger brother of TJ Faiane (who was also an ex-NZ Schools rep a couple of years ago and played for the NZ U/20's in their JWC victory this year). I was in NZ a couple of months ago attending the wedding of an 'out-law' (my wife hates it when I call her family this) and I got to see this kid play. He is very good. He was instrumental this year in leading his school to the Auckland schools title this year beating the strong St Peter's College and St. Kent's schools along the way.

Another kid to look out for in the NZ Schools' team is To'o Vaega Junior. His dad is the famous Manu Samoa representative To'o Vaega. Vaega Snr made his debut for Samoa against Wales in that famous 1991 game where Samoa beat Wales. Dad actually scored the winning try! Junior actually scored a try this weekend against the Barbarians.

Another two to look out for are the twin nephews of ex-All Black (and now Counties-Manakau coach) Tana Umaga. His nephews are Peter and Thomas Umaga-Jensen. Both are current members of the Hurricanes U/18's squad. Good players. Both were rested this weekend and didn't play against the Barbarians.

And one more; Alex Fidow (he is returning from last year). A real workhorse!

No the game was the NZ Schools v. NZ Schools Barbarians (which in effect is the NZ Schools A). They played on the weekend.

Happy to Chat

It will be interseting to see what positions the Australian Schoolboys backline take on as we have Goddard and Lenac at scrumhalf, McGregor, Jooste and Campbell who all played regular GPS season at flyhalf, England, Kennewell and Riley who all played regular GPS season at centre, Loga Tarogi at wing and Ngamanu who played at fullback.

Have we got anyone going to the games at Ballymore and Sunnybank etc that can knock up a quick match report, or take some photographs for the front page of the bog?
