The Aus Schools website mentioned that Aus was behind 15-17 so the second half must have been 24-0 to the Aussies.

They will have a match report up soon. Honey Badger will send us some bullet points and there will be a G&GR blog on the game with some photos from HB.

Edit - the ASRU report had the HT score as 10-17; so the second half tally was 29-0 to the Aussies which makes the comeback all the more meritorious.

Looks like a pretty handy side - from all reports concerning the Fiji Schools match last Thursday the Aussies will have to be more consistent because they made too many errors.
Armstrong selection on the wing is a bit of a surprise and McTaggart at fullback means that he is probably fighting for that position with Osborne
The forward pack looks pretty strong but they'll have to be against the NZ Boys - Good Luck to the Aussies this afternoon in Auckland

Just wondering has funding run out. Why is Aus Babarians not in NZ. We played 1 game against Tonga. How is that improving the standards and closing the gap with the dark side. We should be there.
It would probably have been cheaper to send them to NZ.

Very good point considering Aust babas lost 23-22 last year to New Zealand Schools in comparison to Aust Schools losing 32-8. It just shows how much talent there is and that often there is enough time at the State Champs for all players to put their full case forward for National selection. One could only assume that by sending them over Australian rugby will only be better for it.

Team to play tomorrow

The NZ Barbarians beat the Aussies last time too.

It's hard to get a line on who the selectors fancy to play in the test match going by the sides they picked for the Baas game and the earlier two.

Everybody has had a starting game and a majority have had two. Winger Eadie and Sunia F have been picked to start in all three games, yet lock Wilson and no. 8 Tai have started in one game but haven't even been on the bench for the others, including today.

It's a real tea leaves shaker.

It's interesting that centre Armstrong was chosen on the wing - perhaps an interview for him there? McTaggart must have enjoyed starting in his best position at fullback, for the first time on the tour.

Apologies for the auto correct errors.

Rugbybloke123, this is a different side, don't think you can make any comparisons, to previous Barbarian sides.

It will no doubt be a very tough assignment in the Test next Saturday against NZ Schools.
Maybe the 'Slippery conditions" favoured the Barbarians but its pretty likely that conditions will probably be similar next Saturday
If that's the case the outcome will only depend on how the Aussie forwards match up against their opponents
If the Aussie forwards don't match the NZ team in physicality and mongrel it is going to be a very long afternoon for the visitors.
Let's hope there were no injuries from today's match

Not sure what the final result was, but Fiji were leading Nz at halftime. Looks like these 4 teams are all close and anyone can win.

Think Australia well able to compete with NZ

Yes yes I understand i was simply reinforcing the fact that the Australian Babas should be over there competing, given that historically they can match it with NZ teams.

That would be the ideal situation: to have both Aussie squads touring, gaining valuable experience, but .......... it would be interesting to hear the reasons why it couldn't or wouldn't happen.
Probably funding.
