Congratulations to all players selected.
There'll be disappointments, but I thought Jangala Bennet QLD I was a special.
There were some good wingers competing but him and Tricks were the best wingers of the tournament imo.

Liam Stone from VIC could consider himself unlucky as well.

But the question is: who do you leave out?

Maybe they're still a chance of being called into the squad later.

@Jets, I may well be mistaken, but aren’t there a few boys in the squad that have signed with league? Eg, don’t Ilias and Edmed play with the Tigers? I didn’t see all the matches and could quibble at the edges over a few selections, but it looks like the selectors got it about right. This is certainly the least controversial ASB trials week for the past few years, at least amongst the GAGR fraternity.

What happened to auggies 10 Harry Wilson ?

And barkers winger ...Galloway ... ?

Both unseen at tournament.. at least by me
Are both injured?

Otherwise selections seem pretty ok

Hopoate a certainty for the 6

And barker college would be happy with their contingent

I don't understand how Brisbane kids are typically younger in their final year?

Someone please explain that?

Some of the Queensland forwards looked like 20 year olds

Galloway was not selected. Bryden, the other Barker winger who made that outstanding on the death try saving tackle for CAS to take the win over GPS played for CS. His tournament was solid but his non selection in either of NSW sides probably harmed his selection.

Having been at both Churchie in Brisbane and Barker in Sydney I can offer an explanation. Qld do years 1 to 7 in primary school then years 8 to 12 in high school. In Nsw they start in year K to year 6 and then do years 7 to 12 in high school. So NSW does one extra year... well that’s what happened in my day... I doubt it has changed.

I believe they do something called prep and then launch straight into year one which means they end up finishing at 17.

Hopoate ruptured his ACL earlier this year, can’t see him making a return as early as September

Yes the Vic lad was a standout. I expect he will be in the starting schoolboy XV. This is a really good group of players. I will be watching the test series with interest this year. I think this group of players can take the kiwis...they have size and strength in the forwards along with s bit of mongrel that comes from the CAS lads in Pollard Zmoretti and Reimer. With the athleticism of Williams and Harris and a back line that can A tackle but B score tries from anywhere, I say watch out kiwis. The Aust schoolboys are back
