That’s actually not a bad idea.
He should be at his club, showing his face. He also should be running coaching clinics for kids when school goes back, working the phones for membership and engaging with sponsors.
If he can support every minority cause under the sun, he can probably promote the game and club that pays him.
Actually I’ve seen him at plenty of his club games.

Wr1 I 100% agree with you. Pocock should be really putting the Brumbies name out there and doing his bit while he recovers from his operation. I wonder if he has ever done any specialist coaching at his club? Which JID team is he attached to? They would no doubt benefit from Poey being around the boys.

BRUMBIES WOMEN'S TENS SQUAD ANNOUNCED

The Brumbies Women’s team have announced their squad for the upcoming Brisbane Global Rugby Tens in Brisbane.

The Women's tournament, presented by Wallace Bishop, twill be run alongside the men’s tournament in Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, on the 9 and 10 February.

The squad includes Louise Burrows, who has been part of the ACT Women’s side since 1995 as well as going to four World Cups with the Wallaroos. Also joining the squad for the tournament is Charlene Gubb, who won the Women’s World Cup with the New Zealand Black Ferns.

The Brumbies Women will hope their blend of youthful exuberance and valued experience will lead to a successful weekend at the in Brisbane and a prosperous 2018 season.

The squad have been hard at work this off-season, with some sessions running in 40-degree heat. They will hope this hard work will pay off as they take on Melbourne Rebels Women, Queensland Women and New South Wales Women in the round-robin tournament.

Tournament organisers plans to expand on the two exhibition matches that were played at last year’s event have come to fruition, and now the Brumbies women will travel to Brisbane, looking to make a statement for their upcoming season.

The Tens will serve as preparation for the Brumbies Women’s upcoming Super W season, the new national women’s rugby competition launched late last year with the team starting their Tens campaign with a clash against the Rebels on Friday afternoon.

There follows a second game at around 20:30 when Queensland provides the opposition, before Pool play is rounded out with a match against NSW on Saturday afternoon. The top two teams will meet in the Grand Final later that day.

Brumbies have released an indigenous jersey and reconciliation action plan.

Jersey looks fantastic and the reasons /meanings behind all of the elements really resonate and represent Canberra and the region (and traditional land and owners) The fact that the players were involved in the design adds extra meaning. Dale Huddleston's (co-designer) works are well know to kids in the ACT as many are hanging on wall of the ACT schools. Great initiative.

The indigenous jersey will be to be worn for all captains runs and warm-ups instead of as a once-off in indigenous round to give it more exposure.

IMHO, I can' t see why elements (if not all of it) of this design cannot be Incorporated in the the playing strip permanently.

Expecting a similar leadership group to last year for 2018 - Lealiifano and Carter as co-captains

It’s looks better then their primary jersey IMO.

Good to see the Brumbies get on board the indigenous jersey round. Given the success of the Wallabies indigenous jersey in 2017 I’d be surprised if the Tahs and Rebels don’t also release one.

Lilo appears to a fairly natural leader and really sets an example to follow. As for captain invisible v2017, based on what I have seen I still remain very unconvinced as to why and about his leadership capabilities as an on field leader.

It would certainly be very distinct and recognisable as well as attracting a lot of attention initially.

Plus500 BRUMBIES ANNOUNCE CO-CAPTAINS FOR 2018

The Plus500 Brumbies are proud to announce that Sam Carter and Christian Lealiifano will continue in the role of co-captains for the duration of the 2018 Super Rugby season.

Carter and Lealiifano were initially awarded the joint honour at the beginning of the 2017 season and, with Christian continuing his remarkable recovery from Leukaemia, Carter led the team onto the field for most of the campaign. The continuity of choosing the same players brings stability to the role.

“Both Sam and Christian did a good job as co-captains last season showing excellent leadership both on and off the field,” Brumbies Head Coach Dan McKellar commented.

“In reappointing them for the new season we are maintaining our continuity of leadership and I am certain that they will both have a big impact in the role during the year. It’s important for our captains to have the respect of their team mates and both Sam and Christian definitely have that.”

Carter became the fifteenth man to lead out the Brumbies when he skippered the side for the first-time last year, against the Crusaders in Christchurch, with the departed Scott Fardy being Captain number 16 when he led the side in the 43-10 victory over the Reds at GIO Stadium in April.

“Over the last twelve months Sam has developed into an outstanding leader,” McKellar commented. “The way he has led from the front in his actions during pre-season has certainly impressed both the staff and players.

“Christian comes back to the club having benefitted enormously from his time with Ulster in the PRO14. Having that game-time under his belt will be a big bonus heading into the Super Rugby season and he has hit the ground running at training.”

The Brumbies aren’t short of experienced leaders throughout the team with dynamic flanker David Pocock set to pull on the Brumbies jumper again during the Super Rugby season and the likes of Wallaby star Scott Sio and most-capped Brumby Ben Alexander also leading from the front.

The Brumbies kick-off their 2018 season with a trial match against the Rebels at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan on Saturday 3 February with kick-off at 6pm.
