There's a story on stuff.co.nz that our Gov will tomorrow announce that the border will re-open to fully-vaxxed people from visa-waiver countries (Aus being one) in early April with no MIQ or self-isolation required.

Edit: Aus from 12 April according to NZHurld.

^ dates confirmed: Aus from 12 April, other visa-waiver countries from 2 May. Includes UK & Ireland so Irish tour is also good to go.

Cabinet meets on Monday to review all things Covid incl vaccine passes & crowd limits. Drums are beating for passes to be shelved & crowd sizes increased to possibly 200 indoors & 50% of capacity outdoors.

These things are possible because it appears we may have reached peak Omicron. I no longer trust the Daily case reports as there's just too much evidence that people aren't or can't report a positive result but hospitalisations do appear to be trending down, numbers in ICU are steady & neither number got much above 15% of capacity.

So umm...I suspect it may have fibally happened. I may have Covid. Going to get a PCR to confirm my suspicions but a number of my family members who I attended a wedding with over the weekend have tested positive today and I'm feeling off.
