Lee, on scrumhalf I am not suprised that Nic White has not taken your eye with Brumby Runners as he has just returned from a shoulder injury and has not played for Runners in '10 season. Performance at U20 camp must have got him in.

Yeah - I thought he was quiet in the two games I saw. :) :) :)

On Jeloudev and Sills: at least "Jelly" is a proven footie player to me having seen him play for the Junior Waratahs over two years - though, as I said, not with a lot of distinction.

Sills hasn't got to that level, in fact, the only time I have seen him play senior 1st Grade rugby is from the bench on TV last week. He is obviously fast but has a whippet build and is only 81kgs yet 185cms tall; not a great disadvantage in 7s but not an advantage in other rugby.

Damon Anderson is a good player and if he proves himself in 1st Grade this season for Easts he may be chosen next year provided the young Queensland wingers don't dominate the wing spots as I expect they will.

Nicky Price looked bloody good in the TV game I saw him play in for Southern Districts v Manly, but he should have to prove himself after leaving the game after school. He's not that big either but if he is good enough to play in 1st grade all this year he will be more seasoned for the 2012 tournament.

Agreed, Lee. Price and Brackin-Henry were on fire in that game. Has the latter been considered at all?

Good to see Dave Dillon back and playing first grade again. I thought his career might have been over. Where's Leon Bott playing now, by the way?

That's the TV game - great. Can anybody confirm that it's Sills first game in 1st Grade?

Geez I'm slack - I've just realised that there's a Friday night game on at Uni. but too late now. Lachlan Mitchell is back and playing and Luke Jones is playing 6 - plus Pete Betham at 15 and other sundry interesting Uni players.

Colts and Grade Lee!

This is Sills second game in first grade, he played a game in 2nd grade the round before that after coming back from Sevens/Injury - not too sure??

Brackin - Henry has been on the bench for the Brumbies for the last few weeks.

Re: Oz U20 squad

Can someone answer this for me :

Phoenix Battye is counted as a NSW rep in this squad even though from the ACT if I recall correctly - no problems with that.

But apparently according to the link below(dated 1/5) he is a Brumbies Academy member.

NSW Rugby Website has this though :

http://brumbies.com.au/act.rugby/page/58244

Phoenix Battye
Position: Lock
Born: 28.09.90
Club: Sydney Uni

He hasn't been named in a Sydney Uni team this season? Anyone know what is going on?

If he is a NSW Academy member why does he get special exemptions to play in the ACT comp?

The former Wests Junior and Pirate is now at Penrith Emus, via Brisbane Broncos, Bulldogs, Sharks and the Blue Slime. He's tearing it up out there and scoring a few tries along the way.

I mistyped. I saw him coming on in 1st Grade last week on TV. I meant had he ever started in a 1st Grade game? Not according to the programmes they give out each week which you can read on the net, but they are often inaccurate. He would never have started in a 1st Grade game for Sydney Uni last year with the wingers they had.

AD

I don't know the protocol but I confirm that Arizona is in the Junior Waratahs (amateur group).

Re: Oz U20 squad

Going back to Arizona. That team he was listed in was an ACT team, not an academy team - and anyway academy teams often have ring ins to make up numbers in a position.

But he does have an asterisk beside his name indicating that he was a member of the Brumbies Academy in 2010. Perhaps the person typing it made a Lee Grant typo - because he is a local.

Re: Oz U20 squad

22 young men who play rugby in Brisbane will be representing at the Under 20's World Champioship in June, or the 20's Trophy, the 2nd tier comp that starts next week in Russia.

In the Trophy, Nigel Genia (GPS) and Allen Weller (Sunnybank) are representing PNG.

David Feao (Souths) Matt Ika (?) are re representing Tonga

Fred Tuua (Souths) is representing Samoa

Kirwan Sanday (?), Michael Turner (Sunnybank), Teti Tela (Sunnybank), Chris Nasiganiyavi (GPS), Joshua Tuqiri (GPS?), Ratu Tevita Kurudini (Uni?), Solomoni Rasolea (Uni?), Thomas Lunde (Sunnybank) are all representing Fiji.

And then there are the eight guys representing OZ.

Not bad, 22 guys from one comp spread across five nations, with quite a number of them already playing Premier.

NSW posters - Also noticed a Kotoni Ale in the Tongan team list. Wasn't he a gun NSW schools forward a couple of years ago?
