I know Hamish Bull is training with the Gold squad for Scots currently, and maybe Ashton Large. (Both 16s)As

It just is, there are few if any that could push for a place in 1's or 2's. There were an unusually large number last year because the U16's cohort was exceptional (there would have been more if not for injury). This years 16's cohort is good but not as dominant and probably not good enough to displace an older player in the same position. Perhaps there will be an exception (like a new arrival or someone who has developed massively) but right now I can't think of any.
If anything last season showed us 10 round comp is very long. Lots of injuries (Unfortunately), so in general schools needs good depth in a 1st/2nds squads.

anyone got a predicted newington team
A predicted backline for new has been posted but haven't got a clue about the forwards.

9. Hickey
10. Humphries
11. Warner
12. Grantham
13. Makasini
14. McEwen
15. Rodwell

All except Grantham have played 1sts in 2023.

We could very likely see McEwen in the 15. He played there both times in their only 2 wins of the season - meaning Rodwell moves to 10, Humphries to 12 and Grantham to 14.

this is my shot at the forward pack

1. Davies(16As)
2. Costanzo(3xv)/ Latham(16As)
3. Clatworthy(2xv)/ Latham(16As)
4. Bell(2xv)/ Perkins(16As)/ Muir(injury/16As)
5. Mooney(16As)
6. Cleverley(1xv)
7. Perkins(16As)/ Habler(injury)/ Muir(injury/16As)
8. Bell(2xv)/ Muir(injury/16As)

Lots up for grabs here. It looks like Davies has the loose head position locked up, and Cleverley and Mooney have their respective positions wrapped up. Bell is all but guaranteed a spot. However, apart from them, a lot is still up for grabs in the second row and open side flanker roles. We need to take note of Ewan Gleeson (16As), who also has a shot at hooker after unluckily missing out on any GPS Presidents' sides this year. Additionally, we need to consider Dylan Simmons, the blindside flanker for the 16As last year. He's a walking highlight but was left out because Cleverley is above him. However, don't think they won't try to sneak him into this side somehow.

While rules are rules - when a rule makes no sense, why have it? This is a serious question? Certain GPS schools are openly indeed brazenly flouting the spirit and intention of the GPS. Why is this not a legitimate question for discussion, provided it is done in a respectful and courteous way?
If my memory serves me correctly , there used to a thread just for that subject -known among members a Hotel California. I believe it has been in recess for some years.

Hey @Aaron Pewterschmidt or anyone who knows, do you mind mentioning the teams they played for last year next to their names?
