O'k the G&GR selectors are out and about. You too can be a selector!!

This is where you get to select the players for the North (Union) v South (Confiderate) camps for the Premier North v Premier South battle. It's like "Gone with the Winds", hopefully without the Wind!

Is there a ruff diamond us guys haven't discovered yet?? So far our fellow selectors have identified the following talent on the radar:

Premier North Colts

Jodan Tupai - Norths (1)
Jacob Pinkney - Norths (1)
Effie Maafu - Wests (2)
Robby MaCaffrey - Brothers (2)
Will Wilson - Brothers (3)
Emmanuel Meafou - Brothers (5)
Jackson Evans - Brothers (6)
James McMillian - UQ (6)
Connor Moroney - UQ (7)
Tom Zappala - Brothers (7)
Rhys Martin - Brothers (8)
Sam Wallace UQ (8)
Harry Parcell - GPS (9)
Jodan Lenac - UQ (9)
Jac Van Eeden - Wests (9)
Alex Horan - UQ (10)
Lorenzo Skelton - Brothers (11)
Kailab Conventry - Brother (13)

Premier South Colts

Johann Koorts - Souths (1)
Gavin Luka -Bond (3)
Callum Ball - Bond (5)
Jack Farrell - Souths (7)
Jameson Quirk - Bond (8)
Rodney Pits - Souths (9)
Hamish Stewart - Bond (10)
Jezzy Ione - Sunnybank (11)
Dylan Riley -Bond (13)
Clayton Uia - Souths (13)
Hayden Sargent - Bond (14)
Josh Coward - Sunnybank (10 or 15)
Jayden Ngamanu - Souths (15)

We are getting there for the Union forwards, but we do need some backs! The reverse is true for the Confederate team (stands to reason ;)), plenty of backs but not as many forwards.

So G&GR selectors let's get out there and fill the gaps; (lets help or give a hand to the poor REAL selectors!)

North: Norths, Brothers, Wests, UQ and GPS

South: Easts, Souths, Bond and The Bank.

Probably the main focus of this exercise is for the guys in G&GR to be aware of the players and maybe make comments on performances. Just for fun!

At 2.02 meters I don't think we can't ignore Ben Grant (4) and Sam Wood (6) both Bond.
Is Tony Hunt still playing for UQ? and what about Kalala Meni?

I'll put them on the list. Tony Hunt started back last week and Meni is due back in 2-3 weeks I think. Add them (thumbs up)??

OK My tips for ROUND 14 as I am in 3RD PLACE.... That's right baby I'm out of the cellar (well at least the torso is...)

GPS hosting the Roger Moores of the Comp
Congratulations GPS on your improvement this year but I don't expect to see that elusive first win happening on Saturday
HTC + 2 = Bond by 27

SOUTHS hosting The Brethren from Albion
Everyone kneel with me.........
This is a weekend of miracles my brothers and sisters. The seas will part at Chippsywood, the Mother Madonna will have the weeping tears flowing down from her statue and I have a hunch that something miraculous may happen at Souths in the wet.
Magpies by 1

The Dragons are waiting for the Dogs to show up at Oldmac
Seriously what are the odds of the dogs providing an upset here in the wet. The dogs forward pack is going to look forward to this game but sticking to the new selection strategy
HTC + 2 = Sunnybank by 12

And to complete the round The Uni lads taking on Easts at St Lucia
Easts have a very slick backline that works well "off forward front foot ball" (try saying that fast 3 times) The conditions + playing at home + the fear from UQ of dropping out of the top4 + HTC + 2 = UQ by 11

The Norths lads get to go fishing this weekend

Good luck to all teams, enjoy the burgers and remember when things look as dismal as they can get, you could always get a call from Check and ask to play tight head this weekend.....

Just to change things up I've had a change of heart (sorry Phatmik, you're welcome to change) I'm going to tip East's by 5 over UQ.

^^^ O'k HTC, going for the intercept here??

Phatmik as usual a dream selection, but I thought you were HTC and two? Does that mean -2 / +2?? O'k an upset each.....interesting.

This is whats happening this weekend:
GPS v Bond - BOND by 21
Sunnybank v Wests - Sunnybank by 18
Souths v Brothers - Brothers by 14
UQ v Easts - Uni by 16

So no close games - and that's without the witches hats playing.
Its often like that when the princes play the paupers.

Looking forward to the flat track bullies at home on Tuesday versus Bond. Surely this time.....

There we go Sage Souths done and dusted, just need you to hand the list over to the Souths coach. Pity the list is missing Effie Maafu though, I thought he is an outstanding player?
Good work though Breakdown we may need to tweak it a little but a good start.

^^^^

Jesus, I must be some task master....record time guys.

I think Kalala Meni will be playing 12 for UQ when he comes back, and Maafu is already listed in the Norths team (second person that has said I left him out. Must have an invisible name or something; no lemon juice here!).

O'k how about these guys returning and maybe available: Harry Hocking (tick), Harry Hoopert (tick), Liam Jurd ?, Liam McNammarra?, Liam Wright ?and Josh Taylor ?. Are they available? Most are for the Confederate.

Efi Maafu plays for Wests, and therefore eligible for North.

I think for the North team you would expect that given the form of the Wests forward pack, in particular their scrum, that Wests #3 Josh Graham would be in the running for a potential spot in the tight/loose head position. Graham has shown considerable improvement during his time at the Kennel and has recently been called up to train with the wider Reds U20's squad. Other forwards from the Doggies such as the #2 and #8 would also have a chance. As for the backs, the Doggies attack has failed to turn good possession and territory (acquired through the forwards) into points. One star in the Wests backline would have to be #12 Josh Davies - provides good front foot ball. Traditional #12 - I'm sure he'll excel in coming years (keeping in mind that he maintains his fitness as this has been an ongoing issue for him).
