Feels like criticism of the Queensland teams may have been OTT?

I certainly didn't feel like the sky was falling down after day one, but I'm glad for the boys that they've turned the results around.

In other news, I had a peek at the GPS Team of the Decade document I've been updating recently.

It'll take some truly excellent players in the next four years to knock out the guys already, but I think there may still be room for a blindside flanker and reserve scrumhalf.

Kalyn Ponga and Issak Fines-Leleiwasa are the only two players I've included not to play multiple seasons in the First XV.

The players I've selected are based on the level of dominance they displayed while schoolboys, not after school. No Samu Kerevi's here.

Credit where credit is due. Congratulations to both Queensland Schoolboy teams for their victories over the "Old enemy" yesterday. The players executed brilliantly and well done to the coaches for their plans.

A special shout to the QLD2 team. All guts and belief. I thought the whole team stepped up and Connors and Vuta were outstanding. And Gordon got his kicking radar back in the game and time it counted, even the last one that missed but went over dead ball line to deny NSW1 a last attempt to win.

The one thing that I think has stood out in this tournament over the years but especially in last two is that any team usually pays a price when they do not respect the opposition.

Good luck to all tomorrow. There is a Championship to be won and also another chance of giving it to the "Old enemy".

26-20 BGS-GT full time

I thought I would hang around and watch the first half. I ended up satying for the whole match, well done to BGS, previous teams would have been happy with a close loss but not these guys. When it looked liken GT would just sneak home they hung tough and backed their game plan. Obviously GT had a number of players away at Aust trails so let's not get carried away, but, BGS also have a few to come back. From what I saw today they could get the odd win over a more fancied team that may underestimate them.

Good luck to them and the coaches this year

Wow... The Australian selections were utter, bulls**t... First of all, ACT and QLD 2 deserved to have more people make it because well, they were 1st and 2nd... NSW did not deserve the large amount they got in

Yeah it's a funny thing with Team(s) of the decade, they generally don't extend much further past the start of the decade..

A team of the millennium would be a fun exercise but I couldn't comment on the players' Schoolboy form
