Queensland Reds 2025

Heard an interesting tidbit on the ESPN podcast with Doran and Sam Bruce - Doran reckons the reds sought out a loan arrangement with the tahs for Isaac Kailea to help cover their loosehead injury problems. Apparently it was rejected.
Interesting….
especially as the Tahs haven’t played him since mid April and even then he wasn’t getting many minutes. He has played and started more games for the wallabies then the Waratahs since he finished with the Rebels. Could have thrown him back into Lions connection had they released him…

That and the fact they had a loan or two in past seasons. Typical NSW hypocrisy.

feel bad for Kailea mostly.... so much for centralisation by the east coast elite
Isn't this taboo in QLD?

If reversed everyone in here would be justifying why to say no.

Last year they were loaned Pone and everyone agreed it was a good decision.
I mean, I'm not sure what the reasoning is, maybe Kailea refused? Maybe the tahs thought he was ill prepared for it? On the face it seems ridiculous.
NSW will probably come calling when they have no fit hookers at some point next year.

Looks like the consequence of trying to get a Red(ish) jersey/not a white jersey that wouldn't clash with the Lions one. I don't love it straight off but I want to see it on the players first - a few of the recent jerseys have looked a lot better on the team than in the promo shots

i thought it was a positive when Rebels loaned Pone to Waratahs last year FWIW

On another topic, Reds released the B&I Lions special jersey... interesting

So did I. I'm just being petulant. Rebels were under the centralised umbrella though right? Anyways..

The jersey will look better on a player but feels like a miss. Over designed and looks like half a Rebels jersey.

Reds wore a predominately White jersey v the Lions last tour. Would have run back the Indigenous one with an added bit for the Lions like last tour when it was the Lions head in the shape of Aus on the sleeves.

Our previous white jerseys have been sick.

Could have gone a White and Maroon hoop or something (maybe a bit Japan-like),

or a rearrangement of the colours on our home strip

Hell, even a playing jersey from this release
