To be fair, I thought the $250 price for my usual seat was a bit too much to stomach considering the Welsh game was like $65? I landed on the $59 ones as at least they're on halfway.
Would have been happy to pay $100-$150 but $250 makes for an extremely expensive night out to bring the Wife.

Gets expensive for these games Ig, I guess the Reds etc have to use opportunity to get extra money. I know myself and mate in Aus paid out fairly biggish coin for tickets to Lions vs Blues and Last teat in NZ in 2017. It's ok mate , it's why we work isn't it? Well that's what I said when I was adding flights and hotels bills to trips.

On the subject of justifying the expensive ticket pricing. What success do you want to see from the cash injection to be comfortable with the cost of tickets.
If we're extremely competitive at our home world cup and win the Bledisloe back over the next few years then I'm happy to fork out for the Lions tickets.

This series is worth something like $5m every year for the next 12 years for rugby in this country. It's probably paying for every development officer employed by any union in the country to promote rugby over the next decade.

The fact that there are very few tickets remaining for any of the games on tour suggests that the pricing was reasonable for the events being sold.
The test tickets I bought were fairly eye-watering in terms of cost. That said, if I hadn't bought them, clearly someone else would have.

The ticket prices are not a charitable contribution to an RA development fund, they're market value for a once in 12 year special event.
No one is saying they're not expensive but the last tour still represents some of my fondest rugby watching experiences and the games are well worth the money they're charging for mine.

Agreed Wilso - it's why I happily paid the premium for the Wallabies game as it'll most likely be the last lions series that my old man and I go together to.
The next tour won't be a problem as the 25% post-tax, tax I pay to go to work (Aka Daycare fee's) won't be hitting the old CC.

Reds vs Lions has made it onto Sportsbets ‘featured sport’ arena, along side Wimbledon, State of Origin etc. As a regular sports punter I can tell you that having rugby there is rare. Must be plenty of heroic QLD punters having a crack at juicy odds with the volume of bets for it to hit the “big time” featured sport.

Looking good, had a quick check of weather in Brissy, looks to be good. I not sure at all how this will go. Imagine Lions will be favorites, but some of the starts(28-29?)posted here by TAB (or whoever) look a bit of a stretch to me. Even without a few test players , I don't think it looks a bad Reds team to me. Young and hungry counts for a bit!

People were smashing out $300+ for Taylor Swift tickets and she'll be back in a couple of years. Some people just need something to complain about.
Nobody who has bought tickets were unaware or caught off guard by the cost.
Enjoy the game, in a couple days regardless of result you won't think about what was spent.

Reds have a bench. I think the Lions can and should still get to 40 but the Reds have more than one try in them and I reckon three at least.
Not a chance unless it's to win the game on the bell. You aren't going to win this by slowly accumulating.
