Rugby Championship 2025: Wallabies v Argentina

Donaldson mentioned on Rugby heaven he's progressing very well with injury and should be able to integrate back with the squad next week
Glad he's recovering but tbh he feels a long way back in the pecking order right now and if they can put the Argies away even further back. He like Lonergan can sit and wait for a chance. He's lucky he offers utility value.

I think he'll walk back in ahead of Edmed, who Schmidt seems very reluctant to use. Donaldson's fullback coverage is probably a bit more important now with Wright out too, but I'm not sure he'll pass O'Connor and get back into the 23 straight away, maybe not until the EOYT.

A lot depends on what the long term planning looks like with O'Connor - it makes plenty of sense to use him right now, but realistically he probably needs to be phased out of the 23, unless they see him as a realistic option for the world cup.

I see his value because he can play 10 and 15 whereas Kellaway and any other players with experience in the 15 like JAS and Potter don't.

Donaldson may find a home permanently on the bench due to the cover. If Lynagh was out, JOC (James O'Connor) starts IMO and visa verse. 2027 looms though and JOC (James O'Connor) is taking on the undefeated opponent of Father Time.

I'm convinced if Edmed has a strong year for the Brumbies there will be many calling him the guy which will be quite funny as It's that wonderful system in Canberra more than anything.

That's awesome. Regions love their sport and hopefully bodes well for the WC sales.

Rugby should take a Test every year outside the traditional homes. Townsville, Newcastle, Adelaide would be my main 3 and if Tassie ever gets the Stadium done throw them in as well. A Test that tours and gets people excited for the event.
