Gregor George Cup (Club Championship) Watch:
It is getting tighter at the top as the usual suspects jockey with their positions and consolidate their lead at the top of the table. There is only 39 points separating the top 3 clubs. There is also one hell of a scrap for places 6-10 with just 60 points separating the 5 clubs, assuming Gordon takes max points from the deferred Colts games.

There are a maximum of 215 points available to a club each week, based on all 7 club teams winning with a 4 try BP and the target to win is >3000 points which was achieved by 3 clubs last year. In 2014 the difference between 1st and 2nd was only 33 points, with 3rd only 52 points further back.

Eastwood, 2023 points (up 1 place)
Randwick, 2001 points (down 1 place)
Sydney University, 1984 points
Manly, 1819 points
Northern Suburbs, 1676 points
Eastern Suburbs, 1367 points
West Harbour, 1356 points
Southern Districts, 1352 points (up 1 place)
Warringah, 1339 points* (up 1 place)
Gordon, 1252 points* (down 2 places)
Parramatta, 804 points
Penrith, 100 points

How the Club Championship table is calculated.
The competition points from the individual competitions are multiplied by the following factors and then added together.
First Grade - 15
Second Grade - 8
Third Grade - 5
Fourth Grade - 4
Colts 1 - 6
Colts 2 - 3
Colts 3 - 2

The 33 point difference between Gold and Silver last year could have been made up from an extra 2 BP in Shute Shield and an extra BP in Colts 2, or an extra victory without a BP in 2nd Grade and an extra BP in Colts 3.

* Postponed Colts Round between Gordon and Warringah in all Colts grades to be played on 25 June. Max of 55 points at stake, which on form should be obtained by Gordon to take their tally to 1307.

Where are the finals series of games going to be this year?

Assume that the Grand Final will once again be at Concord.

Hearing whispers that Concord Oval is going to be levelled to make way for something to do with the WestConnex Road or M4 extension or some such infrastructure project.

Anyone know where I can get a comprehensive list of Sydney Grand Final attendances over the years? Seems to be lacking on the net. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am one of the champions of Todd Louden on these threads, and I think I have volunteered his name for most coaching vacancies around Australia.

I believe he cut short his time at the Rebels for personal reasons (perhaps family personal reasons). There were reports a year or two back that he and his family were really chuffed to be established somewhere up near Lake Macquarie and coaching the local village park team.

He would do well back at The Corporation having had success there before but is he actually interested in the travel or a relocation from the Hunter?

How about Tummy Carter as the Coach?

My first ever post, so take it easy on me hahahah
Unsure if they should be testing players , I think they need to take a sample from the Manly coaching staff. The worst Marlins front row I have seen for years. If it was'nt for Gower the woodies could have racked up a bigger score.
Congrats to the Woodies.

Would Tummy Carter watch the game at the foot of Marlins Hill?
Can you sledge a coach?
The likes of Tummy are great for rugby, yeah why not.

I reckon Tummy would get right amongst it and would probably try to set up home base right in the middle of Marlins Hill.

When they replaced the front row,the scrum still got bitched, and they continued to be dominated around the park.
Are you suggesting that the third grade front row is the Marlins best?
Absolutely agree about Gower, take him and Lucas out and the Marlins are only mediocre.

Lane's pretty handy, and their centres are as good as most combinations in Clubland. Bergelin is no slouch, either.

Lane is overrated.
Watch him closely and you would be surprised at how little he contributes.
I've been a big fan of Bergelin, but he has not been at his most effective this year.
The arrival of Neville will paper over a lot of cracks I think.

Don't know who the second or third grade players are.All I'm saying last year the Manly forwards were very strong last year and backs maybe struggle. This year the backs are matching with most sides.
The woodies seem to have depth this year, maybe back to back for the woods
