^^^ From the Tahs page:
Manly (James Hilterbrand) v Sydney University (Matt Sandell, Jake Gordon, Jeremy Tilse, Paddy Ryan, Jim Stewart, Folau Fainga'a, Brad Wilkin, Will Skelton)

When did Folau Fainga'a sign on for the Tahs? Both him and Hliterbrand must have been signed as cover for the TPN/Latu injury crisis.

So Dave - Cliffy P to play at the Village Green on Saturday?
Well he has been listed - great news.
@Dave Beat, No Cliffy by the looks of things.

Most of the Tahs being released for Club duties are EPS, Supplementary Squad, or not regular Game Day XXIII players, with a large number yet to make a Super Rugby Debut.
No mention of Supplementary Squad member Ryan McCauley playing Colts 1 footy for Easts.

Must say interesting would Skelton / Ryan/ Tilse be Supp or EPS, often find it interesting in how the cookie falls, we will have to wait and see.

^^^^ Ryan/Tilse fit in the Not Regular Starting XV category, and some would say they also fit in the "Back to clubland because you are getting your arse handed to you when you take the field in Super Rugby" category.

Big Willie is in the "Get some match Fitness, and Learn how to throw your weight around" category.

Cliffy was probably prevented from playing on advice of his Gerontologist who would have put him in the "Only so many games left in your legs, and we're not wasting one of them on a club game" Category.

In my personal opinion Skelton has not developed in a way that most expected he would. Considering he is such an enourmous player with goo d skills why has this not translated intto team success?

It seems to me he is underutilized at the set piece, particularly scrummaging where the game is won or not won.

Yep - do you remember pre world cup last year his shoulders often ended up over the front rows ass's

I like to watch

You should get a good view of his technique tomorrow Dave!

Interestingly, the bookies think that Uni with 8 pro's coming back to amateur level are underdogs to a team of club players.
If they are proved right,it speaks volumes for the Tahs recruitment and programs.

Anyone know why the Eastwood game last weekend wasn't the TV game?

Why?
Nobody at Norths is going to push a TV execs button.
And if you heard the way that Shep and the other bloke were blowing smoke put the arses of Carter,Tilse et al, you will be lucky to see the woodies on anything else than bar tv.
Look forward to seeing the corp.... A lot

If Fainga'a is the next best hooker after losing 3 TH's against a bloke from Dubbo and a fair dinkum geriatric, NSW rugby is shot.
I watched the game and the tv boys were saying that he was the "Player in focus"
Shame that there was nothing to focus on because they played nought of him first or second half. A little bit embarrassing to say the least

Like the Auckland Warriers did to someone in the Mungoball a year or two back, they pushed in a Loig scrum. I think the old fogie Freier acuutually hooked at the ball when Jake Gordon fed the scrum.

Funny thing happened next, Tighthead. Took The Corporation completely by surprise. WTF is a hooker doing actually hooking the ball?

Why was the corp team not thinking? #Cantwrapgeriatrics
This is Rugby, not 5 kick Chasey

He did hook for the ball but only after the ball was stuck in the tunnel of a stationary scrum and with the Uni hooker unable to lift his leg.

Another great writ up in today's Tele - all clubs have stories like this and someone more IT savvy than me will probably get it up here.

It is Club Rugby providing a pathway to Professional Rugby, but also the support rugby provides in general - it is what is great about our game.
A battler up from Adelaide, and,
Marlins Colts best and Fairest in 2008
Honorable mention in 3rd grade in 2009
Second Grade in 2010 with clubs coaches award.
2011 he made the team of the season, and played more games in twos than ones
And i think his starting debut was against Sydney University 2011, were he was stepping from second grade due to injury - he had a pearler of a game and we one over a highly fancied Uni team.

Hope too repeat today.

Again all clubs have these stories, and it is why Premier Rugby should not be neglected.

The 8 pros won convincingly in the end.

Not that I think that this validates the Waratahs recruitment and programmes.

Yes the weight of the tight five and their extras was a telling difference.

But how good was the win in 2's.

Said in an earlier post this 12 who played in 4's last week called Bergo. he is a man to watch. Bends the D, and throws an awesome ball.
After starting in 3 today he carried 2's home from 27 - 8 down at the break and they got home by a couple - inspirational game that one.

Huge games by Vance Elliot and James Graham.

TBF, I think the idea is that every club will have its time in the sun. Next week, West Harbour and Penriff.

Great to see.
