Why does Australia persist in lifting Hutchison up every defensive kickoff and trying to move him under the ball.

We should be utilising our tall players to contest the ball and players like Hutchison to pick up the scraps if the ball is battered back by the opposition

As it stands we are not winning enough ball and when the opposition gets it, they have an overlap cause Hutchison is yet to come back to earth

Yep. agree with that. Just about lost every restart and from there zero possession. That has to be coachable and fixable. Can only make so many tackles before fatigue and the inevitable overlap.

On a small side note. Can someone give McNamara a quick crash course on tackling technique. A+ for commitment but a D- for execution.

Congrats Canada, I now don't feel quite so bad about that QF loss Other results:

Playoff for 13th:

Argentina 40-19 Russia who probably did enough to avoid relegation for nxt year by extending their series points lead over Japan to nine (25 v 16) which is pretty much uncatchable.

Challenge Trophy Final:

Wales 24-12 Scotland

Playoff for fifth:

New Zealand 17-12 South Africa

Bronze final:

England 14-12 Australia, great effort from your guys esp when down to 10 fit players towards the end.

Japan to be relegated... if you host a leg you should almost be guaranteed a spot for the whole series IMO

^^^^^^^ yeah, it's hard to see how Japan can pick up ten more points than Russia in just two legs, they'd pretty much have to win the Challenge Trophy both times I'd think.

Taking my eye patch off for a moment, how good is it to see the traditional super powers having to fight like hell to make even the Cup SF? Last year we had Samoa, Kenya & Scotland win their first-ever Leg & now Canada, that's gotta be good for the game (eye patch re-installed ).

Australia being able top back-up their form from Hong Kong gives me a real optimistic outlook. With a fairly critical injury toll (Jenkins, Chucky and Lucas) they were able to show some real ticker and skill. Augers well for the future
